Hotel Room Blocks NEWPORT RI

Cassandra6474, on April 14, 2016 at 10:17 PM Posted in Rhode Island Planning 0 7

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience booking a hotel room block in Newport. I am getting married at Castle Hill Inn and would like to give my guest a more affordable option in Newport. Anyone have any suggestions on a more affordable hotel, and how much give or take it cost ? That would be a big help. It's a little to early to contact hotels, to give me accurate pricing they keep telling me so that's why I am turning here for information !

Thanks for any reply in advance Smiley smile

My friend got married at castle hill and ended up booking hotels in Middletown. They had a free hotel shuttle to the venue. There are a few there

They were married Memorial Day weekend so it was more expensive I want to say $200 a night but it's because of the holiday weekend

There's a ton of way more affordable hotels in Middletown. Some may offer shuttles but you could also consider renting a coach bus or school bus to transport them.

Price depends on the date. For our date in South Kingstown, the freakin' Holiday Inn is over $200/night with a 2 night minimum! The Hamilton Village Inn which is in North Kingstown just over the bridge is about $130 and no minimum so most of my guests are staying there. Newport in season is $$$ so look a little further out and see if they have shuttles or rent a bus. We're getting a school bus for guest transportation and it's under $1,000 for full use 3-midnight so we will have a constant shuttle running from dinner on. I don't know when your wedding is, but I did my room blocks in September (just about a year out) and I'm glad I did. Hamilton Inn is already full, and we haven't even sent invitations out.

Hi Cassandra6474, welcome to WW! Make sure to upload a picture for your avatar (instead of the default icons) so that we can get to know you and tell you apart from all the other posters. You can do this on a desktop computer under My Settings and Profile and Privacy Settings.

Check out WW's room block service! It's free and they'll get all of the room block information for you:

Did you try the ww website that allows you to block rooms? If not call the hotel specifically and ask.
