Hotel block or not?

Kristine, on September 12, 2020 at 10:44 AM Posted in Hawaii Planning 0 1
My fiance and I are getting married in his hometown of Kailua-Kona, and the majority of our guests are coming from the mainland. We know a lot of our guests can barely afford to make it out to Hawaii and are worried about reserving a block of hotels for them.
I don’t want our guests to feel obligated to stay at a specific hotel because we reserved a block of rooms. However, I don’t want them to feel like we are leaving them hanging either. I do have a list of hotels and resorts on our website, as well as suggestions for VRBO and Airbnb, if they want to try to find a cheaper alternative.

I don’t know what to do.

Hi Kristine! Hotel Blocks are an optional convenience for your guests, and sometimes you can even get them a group discount by setting up a room block! Listing other cheaper suggestions will also be a big help.

You could also mention to some of your guests the idea of them splitting a house rental through VRBO / Airbnb if that's cheaper!
