Honeymooning!

Allie, on January 5, 2021 at 7:26 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 17

Hello all and welcome to the new brides/grooms to be! I've been a little busy lately (I just started a new job last week, so I'm getting back into the groove of working after being out of work for 9 months), but I've been DREAMING about our honeymoon. Covid might have an effect on my urge to vacation, but I can't help but look up a bunch of destinations to go to. Right now we want to do an Alaskan cruise and wouldn't go until 2022, so we have time for Covid to settle. But I am wondering, what are your honeymoon plans? Maybe a dream honeymoon you want(ed) to take? It's definitely one of the most exciting things to plan for me!

We went to an all inclusive resort in Cancun and loved it. We want to go back once COVID is under control to enjoy it more.

We went to an all-inclusive in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It was fantastic. Ten days of lounging by the pool/beach with delicious food and drinks and being pampered with my amazing husband.

We probably won’t be able to go on our honeymoon until 2022. We planned 12 days in Ireland, Scotland, and England. Was definitely bummed when we had to postpone it all last summer.

That sounds so nice! The all-inclusive seem to be such a great deal and so much fun.

I can imagine! One of my best friends did an all-inclusive in Jamaica and still raves about it!

That is such a bummer. But those 3 places are literally my top 3 next places to visit in Europe. I'm DYING to go to England, Ireland and Scotland, so that trip will be amazing when it happens. My FH hasn't really been out of the country aside from Canada, so it's a big jump for him. But I'll get him there someday!

Granted not during COVID times but I would have rather gone somewhere and trekked but ya know it was relaxing and romantic for us. Smiley smile

Oh absolutely. COVID has ruined too much. But at least you had some relaxing time! My FH would never be able to just relax...he's SO active, if we don't have something to do pretty much every minute we are on vacation he "gets bored." It can be quite frustrating sometimes when I just want to lay around and relax!

I am like your FH. But the deal was let me have the ceremony I wanted and he had the decision on the honeymoon. He has to learn the hard way because we are not lay out on the beach or pool people so when he said 7 days I was like are you sure? By day 4 he was like yeah next time three or four days is enough. -_-

Ha, at least he learned! I'm similar, I don't love laying by a beach or pool. Actually, most of our past vacations have been in colder weather because we like the activities in the winter. So I TOTALLY get only needing 3-4 days if it's meant to be just a relaxing thing. My FH has NO chill at all though. Like not even an hour of just sitting and enjoying a little relaxation is acceptable. That's why I figured maybe a cruise will be good for him...there's always something to do! And the man can eat, so that something to do might just be constantly eating for him.

We did Disney/Universal the January after our wedding (...right under the COVID gun!).

It was a blast, we're so glad we did it, and we're now dreaming of a big Disney trip with all our friends after COVID.

An Alaskan cruise is on our bucket list! Definitely going to look into doing one when things settle as well. For our honeymoon we are going to Florida for Disney, Universal, and some of the safari drive throughs and such. Just playing it safe for now.
