Honeymoon?

Cristina, on June 15, 2020 at 2:35 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 10

With everything going on a honeymoon is still in question. We are still moving forward with our original date of October 25th for our wedding and our venue let us know to contact them as the time gets closer to see where they are with everything. As of right now everything is still in motion and we have no plans on postponing.

We started looking into honeymoon ideas and really would like to go to a Cozumel resort. I've read they have already begun opening resorts and activities will be fully opened July 1st. My question is do you think we should move forward with booking our trip? We planned on leaving the day after our wedding. We will be booking with cheapcarribean.com and would be opting for the insurance in case we need to cancel or postpone. The insurance only offers up to a 75% refund which we are okay with.

What are you guys doing for a honeymoon? Will you be traveling or keeping it local? We really still would like to have a honeymoon but aren't sure if we should book it.

P.S. We also still need to apply for passports Smiley atonished . From what I read they are behind but being processed. I just need to renew for a passport book because I only have the card and my fiance will be applying for a brand new passport so hopefully it would be here before October.

I think if you're doing the insurance and you're aware that not everything you want to do might be open or available by then, then ok.

it's really in the idea of - are the things you want to do, gonna be available? will you be limited in activities you'd want to do? and overall then would you be happy with that?

I say get the insurance and go for it! I'm headed to Cancun for my honeymoon next month. The resort re-opens July 1.

That makes sense. From what I've read things will be open and they may just limit the amount of people that can do each activity.

    Yes still
Planning on going on my honeymoon in August! We’re heading to Aruba and they fully open July 10, only downside if we have to be tested before we can get into the country, but at the same time makes me feel more comfortable going there lol. So I’d say go for it! We all need a getaway after this 😂

Not our honeymoon but we booked a vacation to an island at the end of October and still plan on going as long as the borders are open. I have a co-workers who is heading to Jamaica at the end of this week.

For our honeymoon we are for certain keeping it driving distance, FH has horrible nausea and can not fly, we are thinking of driving up to CO, we are in MN. Or going back up to a cabin resort in northern MN where we got engaged. Or we may go back to our home state IL and do a whole week in the city downtown Chicago always has tons to do.

I love this thread! We have decided to do a small wedding in September and Postpone our big wedding until Sept. 2021. We have already paid for a really nice honeymoon in Greece, but we are going to postpone that until after our big wedding. We have a week after this small wedding and are trying to decide between St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, Miami and The Keys, or Napa Valley. We are currently looking into these places because all of them are currently open and have less travel restriction due to being in the US or being a territory. I am having the hardest time choosing.

Originally we planned to go to Cancun but our flights got cancelled and I don't really feel comfortable flying right now. So instead we are planning on renting an AirBnb and road tripping there. We're still trying to decide between Memphis and Toronto.
