Honeymoon

I'm. Going. Crazy. On. Choosing. A. Good. Honeymoon. I. Want. To. Quit. Looking. I. Want. To. Cry.
We saw one at Belize and loved it, but like many other places we really loved, there's layovers of more than 7 hours and we don't know if we can even leave the airport to fill in some time.

SUGGESTIONS PLEASE. I'm from Puerto Rico.

Suggestion.. hire a travel agent to do it for you. Your agent should be able to get all of the hard to figure out details down and stay within your budget. They are experts after all!! The one I am hiring only charges $75 for their services. I've read that some don't charge at all. I think $75 is a good price to pay for my sanity lol

We went with this at first, but the travel agents in our city aren't that good. They weren't so eager to help stay within our budget and they only offered us "groups", even though we asked a couple of times for honeymoon advice. We haven't gone to another one though, maybe we'll have better luck! You do have a point 😂

I'm sorry you had a bad experience! Hopefully if you decide to look again you find someone willing to work with you!

I technically haven't started that process yet besides finding out how much the agency charges. My FH thinks I'm nuts for wanting to do it this way, but I think it's smart. I wouldn't do my own cake or flowers, I'm hiring professionals to do it! I'm sure that if I wanted to I could plan a great trip but now it's one less thing to worry about with everything else Smiley smile

My travel agent didn't charge anything for her services. They typically get their comission from the hotel/airline you book with.

OP, I would maybe look at what airlines primarily fly out of your airport and then look at the travel maps of those airlines. See if there are any destinations of interest. You are more likely to find direct flights that way.

FH & I wanted dearly to go out of the country, but flying is sooooo expensive. We settled for "we'll do a mini moon & then a legit one a few months later" that kind of turned into "lets just honeymoon here in the states, we'll save any 'out-of-country' money towards moving somewhere else instead"

At first I was heart broke over this, but we've planned a wonderful 5 day honeymoon that wont cost like crazy, and by skipping going out of the country we're hoping to be able to move somewhere we'd rather be so much sooner

We're going to Asheville, NC, there's so much there, we're sure to have a good time!

We are going to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida! Actually, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, which is a tiny beach town right outside of all the action. The beaches are amazing, and it's saving us a lot of money...don't feel like you have to go overseas for your honeymoon just because....we are gonna have a great time and be able to travel so much less...which means more beach time. Plus Miami is like it's own country anyways
