Honeymoon: Where and why?

Japan and Hong Kong. I let him decide aha. Joked with him that that's the only choice he will get from now on ahaha. I would've preferred something like Bahamas or Fiji but I went with his destinations since I didn't really care and have never been to those places either.

Greece! It's on both our bucket lists.

Nothing is secured yet. But we discussed going on a cruise. FH and I have gone on a few cruises together and we love them. What we like most is that you get so much for one price (the room, endless food, great entertainment, fun, relaxation, activities, you can sign up for excursions at each port and you also get to stop at multiple locations instead of remaining in only one place the entire honeymoon). Since they have cruises that go pretty much everywhere, their are many options too.

Nothing is planned or set in stone yet for us, we have some time to think about it and get deals for purchasing early. We have been tossing around the idea of Lake Tahoe, Hawaii, Cancun, and Italy. Likely we will go to Lake Tahoe because it is the shortest flight (FH hates flying!), most affordable and there are many romantic and adventurous things to do! We really want to go back to Italy so we will probably try to go back before we have kids.

We're going to London and to see the Dover Cliffs. My FH has been to northern England but not southern England and I've never left the country so we wanted to go somewhere that neither of us hadn't gone before. We also decided on London because we love Harry potter so we want to see the sights and have more of an adventure type honeymoon rather than a beach honeymoon!

I just posted a similar thread! We're not sure where to go, we just have a budget right now! FH suggested Rio, which seems weird to me.

We're going to Sandals in Negril, Jamaica. An all-inclusive was pretty high on my list; FH was kind of on the fence. We ended up going back and forth between a blow-out trip to Australia/New Zealand and a beachy resort, and ended up choosing the resort because although Australia/New Zealand are bucket list places, we'd rather spend our honeymoon relaxing and not having to do anything instead of having a more planned itinerary. We travel a decent amount and normally do more sight-seeing places, so the honeymoon will be a nice change of pace to decompress from all the wedding planning and such.

We were super short on money this year so we kept it pretty local. We are 3 hours from the KY border so we rented a mustang convertible and took a road trip to do the Bourbon Trail. Stayed at different locations including a B&B with the sweetest hosts! It was a beautiful drive and the food and everything was amazing the whole weekend. Spent less than 1k on it all. Spent more than originally planned but when we pulled into the car rental place and saw the convertible we upgraded lol

We are going to Jamaica! We talked about Costa Rica (my father was born there, I love it there so much). But then we decided we wanted to go somewhere we both haven't been before. All inclusive and adult only were big on what we wanted in a resort. We are going to Runaway Bay.

7 nights! Can't wait!

Costa Rica! The first criteria was somewhere neither of us has been. We also wanted a balance of lazy/indulgence (island all inclusive) and Sightseeing/Adventure (Europe). We are going to 3 different areas in Costa Rica - beach/spa, private island glamping and jungle, which hopefully will give us exactly what we are imagining!! Oh - and a place we could fly 1st class without that costing half our budget

We are going to Ireland. It is a bucket list location for both of us and we are both Irish. So it just made sense.

Disney cruise next year because he couldn't get the time off this year (new job this year)

We're going to Mexico because his family is from there, we've never been, and we chose Disney because we both LOVE Disney and have always wanted to go on a Disney cruise.

We went to Hawaii (Maui & Oahu) for 7 days. We wanted somewhere fancy & tropical but still plenty of time for relaxing so we didn't have to be constantly sight seeing!

We are going to Puerto Rico for 2 days and then cruising the eastern Caribbean for 8 days. We chose this based on what we liked, beaches, clear blue water, and of course best value for our money.

We are going to the Philippines for 11 days. We wanted somewhere we haven't been before and a combination of adventure and relaxing. I cannot wait. 46 days till we get on a plane.

We are going to Lisbon, Portugal and Tenerife, Spain! My FH parent's are letting us use an exchange week from their timeshare company and the ones in Tenerife just looked so nice! He has never been to Spain (I went in March and loved it) so that was a deciding factor for him as we have both been to Mexico recently. Lisbon just happened to work out because the airline we booked with offers a free stopover there. So we will be there Tuesday-Friday before heading to our resort in Tenerife Friday-Friday.

This is where we are going too! Super excited to relax after all the wedding stuff. We are leaving 2 days after the wedding.

We're delaying our honeymoon till next year and plan to go to Ireland, England, and Scotland. Ireland has been at the top of both our lists. When we bought our first home together last year we bought a beautiful piece to hang on our wall of the Cliffs of Moher, I promised her we would see them as wife and wife. England is so I can explore my heritage and visit some off the beaten path standing stones. Scotland is last on the list but there is just so much history, if we can I really want to spend a day there.

It was really important to me to find a place I had never been before, and FH was up for anything because he hasn't had the opportunity to travel much. So we decided on an 11 night, holiday cruise because of how many different places it stopped. We will be leaving from Florida, to Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia, Aruba, and Haiti, then back to Florida.

Disney World! We both love going and being there! We got engaged there as well!
