Honeymoon Tahiti/fiji or others

Anais, on December 9, 2020 at 6:35 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 9
Just got married (yay) and starting to look into our honeymoon.
Right now I’m thinking Fiji or Tahiti, has anyone been and have recommendation of a resort?
We do prefer all inclusive but that’s not absolutely required, we just want good food and a variety of activities. Otherwise, if anyone has other beach resorts they enjoyed within 10 hours of San Francisco (not Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic or Hawaii)

We are looking at Moorea and will be traveling through Tahiti. We saw some cool deals on Tahiti.com. We haven’t worked out if they are cheaper but it gave us some good ideas!

When are you planning to go? Most of the South Pacific nations haven’t opened their borders yet and quite possibly won’t be for some significant time, except maybe to Australia and New Zealand.

My husband and I went to Fiji for our honeymoon and loved it. You can do a resort on the main island of nadi but most of the resorts are built on old mangroves so the beaches aren't as nice. If you take a ferry or sea plane out to one of their islands its a lot better. We stayed at Paradise Coves and it was the only hotel there and you had to pay for their food package which was kind of like an all inclusive (booze wasn't included) and the food was amazing and we would go back just for the food, white beaches, and amazing staff. The place we were at had daily free activities and you were given snorkeling gear to use whenever you wanted and then you could pay for other stuff like the spa or fishing or diving and stuff. If you go I suggest staying in the mainland for a night or two and doing the mud pools cus they were so fun!

Yes that’s a very good point! I’m planning for October 2021 and hoping that gives us enough time for a vaccine to have an effect on the pandemic
Otherwise I’m a French citizen so I can go to Tahiti right now, but Fiji is definitely not open

Thank you! The mud pools sound so great! I definitely was looking into another island than Nadi but it’s a great idea to stay on that one for a few days so we can explore!
