HONEYMOON: ST. LUCIA OR COSTA RICA HELP!!!

Amanda , on July 26, 2017 at 2:37 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

So I have gone back and forth on where to go for my honeymoon: St. Lucia or Costa Rica! I've researched over and over but would LOVE input from someone who has been to both or even just one....or ANY INPUT AT ALL REALLY! My wedding is May 26th and I would be traveling right after so end of May/Early June.

Anyone stayed at St. Lucia Sandals Grande Resort? What resort would you recommend?

Anyone stayed at Riu Palace Costa Rica or Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica? Recommendations in Costa Rica?

HELP please with some input to help me stop being so indecisive!

My sister is in Costa Rica right now and says it's gorgeous. And she's not even staying on a resort.

I've been told that they are all about the same so you can't really go wrong with either one. Go one place now and go to the other in the future. Good luck!

Costa Rica is absolutely beautiful and my favorite place in the world, but if you're interested in all inclusive honeymoons it's not your best option. I feel like Costa Rica is a much better option for people that want to adventure or see natural beauty. I would highly recommend visiting Arenal. When I went on vacation with friends back in February, we used Pacific Trade Winds to book all of our hotels, transportation, and activities (ziplining, white water rafting, walking tours, etc). I would HIGHLY recommend their services, they booked everything except our flights and were able to accommodate my last-minute emergency and give me a full refund for some activities I could no longer do.

What area did you stay in Costa Rica "EngineerInLove" ? I don't have to have an all inclusive resort only like it for the idea of all food/drinks are taken care of. I've looked at all inclusive in Costa Rica but am wondering if I should just do the hotel route. Since I simply only choose all inclusive for the food/drinks to be included. I completely agree it's for sure more of an adventure trip any specific excursions that are a MUST? I've planned out that trip in case I choose it but basically decided to do EVERY excursion possible. Lol

We stayed at the RIU in Costa Rica in May 2013. We stayed at the RIU Guanacaste not Palace. We loved it. It's really cool there and there's so much to do- we'd definitely go back. We went right after their rainy season so it was VERY humid and sticky outside. By noon every day it was really too hot to be outside... it may be different at different times of the year.

Hotel was clean and nice, not 5 star crazy nice but we aren't picky people. We haven't been to St Lucia but I hear it's gorgeous

Hi! My FH and I went to Costa Rica this past April! It is breathtakingly BEAUTIFUL! We stayed at the Occidental Papagayo and it was GORGEOUS! We are planning to honeymoon in St. Lucia - neither of us have been there.

Have you checked out Belize? When we came back from Costa Rica - several different friends of ours told us that if we loved Costa Rica - Belize is even better! We are planning a family vacay to Belize next year!

I know it’s probably too late for your trip, but for anyone else reading this looking for info. We stayed at Secrets Papagayo last summer and it was AMAZING. All inclusive and the food/drinks were very good. We went fishing one day and the chef at one of the restaurants at the resort cooked our fish for us. He asked how we wanted it prepared and even let us choose sides. It was amazing. We’re thinking of going to Saint Lucia for our honeymoon this December because we’ve never been. However we loved Secrets Papagayo so much were tempted to go there again!
