Honeymoon September 2021 Island or Inland?

Katie, on December 26, 2020 at 9:11 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 5
We’re getting married in September, which is peak hurricane season for the Atlantic, so I don’t want to do anything along that side of the coast.
FH has mentioned an all inclusive in Hawaii (seems fine to me) or seeing the Shire in New Zealand ( sounds $$$$ to me 😂). I’d love to do Scotland, or something in Europe like hitting Oktoberfest (again both $$&dollarSmiley winking, or a New England leaf tour (like the old lady I am inside). Any suggestions we aren’t hitting yet? Any tips on where to decide? I don’t particularly want to spend more than a day or two at a beach, and am not one for relaxing by a pool all day. We’ve already done Napa, so not there. Also would likely only have 1 week, and would like to keep things under $5k.

Sorry, I don’t actually have advice, but can I ask the name of the all inclusive in Hawaii? That’s what my fiancé and I want to do, but I (somehow!) haven’t been able to find one in Hawaii, haha!

Wow what a variety of options! Haha I love it. Also would kill to see the Shire. 🙈

One good thing about traveling to Europe in September is that it’s shoulder season. Far less expensive then going in the spring or summer but the weather is still beautiful. I’m getting married in the south of Spain 9/25/21 and round trip tickets from Miami were only $500! Definitely book before travel restrictions are lifted and prices go up too. Basically all the airlines have flexible covid change policies so no worries there.
My favorite places I’ve visited in Europe - Croatia (dubrovnik, korcula, and split in particular), Cinque Terre in Italy and the walled city of Lucca as well (absolutely would move there 😍), France (Cap Ferret/Arcachon) and the Costa del Sol in Spain (hence why we are getting married there.) 😊 I hope that’s somewhat helpful! I live in Miami so totally agree you want to avoid southeast/Caribbean just in case! Happy planning!

When I was researching all inclusive resorts in Hawaii, I couldn’t find anything under $5K. We’re getting married in April & are going to Jamaica to a Sandals resort. Sandals has resorts all over so you could start there. Also, check TripAdvisor.

I second anything in Europe in the fall, later in the southern areas into the beginning of winter. Summers, some places are overrun with tourists, and it begins to be like Disney World during a school vacation, so over run. Foods are rushed and taste bad, service quality drops. The last week or two before labor day is an amazing change. Don't schedule too much for a week, but Denmark, and St Petersburg are small and from Copenhagen you can ferry or fly ( hop) across to Sweden or Finland. St Petersburg was home to many of the czars, see palaces, take a river cruise on the Neva. You must start applying for a Russian Visa moths ahead if you are not with a tour group. Walking among the great buildings themselves is so romantic.

I wouldn't put money down on anything international for 2021. Covid restrictions change.
