Honeymoon in October...where to go?? Hawaii??

Jennifer, on June 25, 2012 at 6:04 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 16

My future hubby and I will be honeymooning in the month of October. Where is the best place to visit in October??

We were hoping to visit Hawaii but I have my concerns..... has anyone been in October?

Is the weather nice?

Are there all inclusive packages available in Hawaii?? I heard there isn't??

Will it be super expensive?? Hoping to stay on a budget.

Any advice, suggestions, info where you booked y.our honeymoon through, etc will be so helpful. Thanks so much in advance.

YES! It's beautiful...DH and I are going there in October for our 1 year anniversary to make up for our honeymoon...we ventured to Mexico (as it was the very end of hurricane season) and ended up in a hurricane. Maui is very rare to have bad weather.

EDIT: guess I should have read this completely.

Hawaii is expensive. Your best bet is to find a condo with a kitchen...bring non-perishable foods with you as a carry on (pringles, fruit snacks, granola bars, pasta noodles, mac and cheese...things like that) and then go to the store and buy things like milk, bread, deli meat, etc. That's what we do (but my parents have a timeshare there...so we don't have to worry about that part)

tickets aren't cheap unless you book well in advance.

I'm not sure about all-inclusives in Hawaii to be honest...you might want to consider talking to a travel agent (I have a great one if you need one).

I go to Maui every other year...so PM me if you need any additional information Smiley smile

I've never been to Hawaii but I do know they don't have any all-inclusive deals out there.....I will be honeymooning in October as well and we haven't truly decided just yet - we wanted Italy at first but only if we have the money if not then Aruba...it's the Caribbean but it's the part that doesn't get hit by the hurricane season..The ABC islands they call it

My FH was a fraternity brother so our wedding has gotten a bit out of hand with guest count so now we are stuck with a moderate budget for a honeymoon. I would LOVE any suggestions to a travel agent anyone used. Our local ones haven't gotten the best of reviews so I'd rather go with one that someone suggests. Smiley smile

We had a very limited budget for our HM. I told her what we were looking for and what we were able to spend and she found the best deal for us. She even emailed me when she found out about the hurricane and offered to find a plane flight out if we wanted...she really went above and beyond! I randomly found this gal online...she lived on the east coast....we are in CO...she took an entire Sunday just to help me find a place...we ended up booking through her 2 days later!

Mrs Media and I traveled to Hawaii for our first (and only, so far) vacation to Hawaii in October a few years ago, and we had a fabulous time! Just realize that it's always raining SOMEwhere on the islands, so just drive a few miles in a different direction, and you'll be back in the sunshine!

We were on Kauai for a week and on Maui for a week. We took a day-long tour of the Big Island (Oahu) that included Pearl Harbor and The Polynesian Cultural Center; a helicopter tour of Kauai; and a day-long bus tour on Maui to Hana. I highly recommend all of these!

Expensive? Yes. But worth it. For us, it's probably the only time we'll ever be in Hawaii, and we don't have any regrets about what we DIDN'T get to do. Enjoy!

Just booked mine for March! Hawaii has no all inclusive deals and if you hear of one, be very careful and read all of the fine print! I have read alot about travel to Hawaii and fall seems to be a great time to find deals GL and Happy planning!

A great place to go in October is Aruba, they have many all inclusive resorts, and they

have 1 Adult Only All Inclusive. They are out of the hurricane area, and the beaches are beautiful. Hawaii does not have any all inclusives, however they have some resorts

that inlcude breakfast, or might be giving hotel credit if having specials. Please feel free to call or email me anytime, there is no fee for my services, adn I can match or beat all internet prices, and help you plan the honeymoon of your dreams. I have already sent several couples from wedding wire on there honeymoon. Please look me up on Facebook or Linkedin!

The weather in Hawaii is nice year round but it can be very expensive. We'll be honeymooning in October as well and we were originally going to do Hawaii but it ended up being too expensive so we opted to take a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean instead. Much more affordable.

Hawaii is expensive however, if you plan ahead you will be fine. We are getting married in Maui in November and I have done some research about the temps. It is basically in the 80's. To save money you will definitely want a condo and remember it is an island so you are always fairly close to the beach. We have found a website called homeaway.com and they have several condos that are extremely reasonable. I'm talking like $100/night. We are planning to stay in Kehei which is fairly central on the island and not too close to the the more touristy Lahaina. My brother lives there and he told me not to buy any excursions until we get there as it is sometimes cheaper to buy them once you are there. Most of the condos provide everything you need to be comfortable so that eliminates having to make unnecessary purchases. Good luck in your planning. Wherever you choose to go as long as youb are together that is what makes it a honeymoon Smiley smile

Hawaii does not offer any all-inclusive properties at this time. Secrets has it in their plans to put a resort there, but it will be the first. Hawaii can get expensive even after you arrive (food, tours, etc.), but it is an absolutely beautiful destination. Each island has something unique to offer.

If you are looking for more exotic destinations and an all-inclusive package, there are some nice resorts in Costa Rica and it is a beautiful destination with much to do. We send many of our honeymooners there. Also St. Lucia offers some unique experiences and is a little more upscale.

Some of the best values (and great all-inclusive resort offerings) are in Riviera Maya, Jamaica and Punta Cana. Be careful though which resort you choose as not all-inclusive resorts are created equal. Each destination certainly has some highlights.

Also - another nice way to see Hawaii is on the Norwegian Pride of America. It is the only ship that is registered in the U.S. so it does not have to touch another country (ie Mexico). It is a 7 day cruise from HNL to HNL and you get to spend 2 days on every island. Other cruise lines have to go up to Mexico for a day so you spend most of your time at sea. This is a more casual cruise (island wear and no formal nights). They have great entertainment (not the most memorable food, but good), but the itinerary is unmatched. They also cruise by the Volcano at night and do a 360 so that everyone has a chance to see the lava flow and you cruise past the Napali Coast which is breathtaking in itself. We recommend booking 3 nights on Oahu to give yourself time to visit North Shore (beautiful drive), Polynesian Cultural Center and Pearl Harbor and then taking the cruise.
