Honeymoon in Costa Rica in September?

Lesley & Blair, on September 25, 2012 at 2:39 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 8

My fiance and I are moving right along with planning the wedding. We are starting to explore and research honeymoon options. One of the places top on our list is Costa Rica. Can anyone share their experience about their honeymoon in Costa Rica? We are also looking for an all-inclusive resort. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you in advance! :-)

Lesley - To be honest, Costa Rica is not the best destination for all-inclusives. I absolutely LOVE it for its unique jungle lodges, adventure activities, local culture and cuisine, but it's a destination that begs to be explored, and not tucked away in a resort. If you want to see photos and read about some amazing hotels, check out my trip report from a visit there this summer: http://www.anniesescapes.com/monkeys-lizards-and-sloths-oh-my/

But, if you are looking to pamper yourselves and plop on the beach at a romantic all-inclusive, there are better options, with better beaches. It totally depends on what you're looking for in your honeymoon, and an experienced travel professional could help walk you through the best options for the two of you. Best of luck!

My friends who got married last weekend are arriving back from their honeymoon in Costa Rica today. I will ask her what she thought and let you know.

We are going to Costa Rica for our honeymoon. We are visiting two resorts A. The Arenal Nayara (hotel nayara) http://www.arenalnayara.com/home.php B. The Westin Playa Conchal http://www.westinplayaconchal.com/. The Westin is an all inclusive but we are only going there because we have a TON of starwood points from our wedding. Both have amazing reviews on trip advisor. I am more excited about the nayara however. I don't really care about the beach not being that great because I live 8 blocks from a fabulous beach, I care more about the activities, pool, swim up bar, accommodations, etc.

Costa Rica is so beautiful. Or so I hear. Every one I know of that has traveled there has loved it! What ever you choose you can't go wrong. There are some great villas there too, maybe check those out.

There are several All Inclusive resorts in Costa Rica, the Riu Palace is opening in November, and is on a beautiful beach, there are several options when honeymooning

in Costa Rica, you could stay near the volcano area and then move over to the beach area, all depending on how much time you have, and what you want to do, please feel

free to email me *********@*****.***, have sent several honeymooners and they have loved Costa Rica

Cara, Costa Rica is out of the hurricane danger area. This makes it really unique as you can still go someplace tropical and not have to worry.

    Lesly and Blair,

Although All Inclusives can be hard to find in Costa Rica, we specialize in customized AI packages for honeymooners. We are in the beautiful Manual Antonio area and we are able to adjust the package to your budget and desires because we only have one couple at a time. It is very romantic and includes a private waterfall swimming pool in it's own little rain forest. We are happy to answer any of your questions, or you can visit our website; www.mytropicalhoneymoon.com.

    Congratulations on your engagement!
