Honeymoon in Colorado?

Milada, on July 23, 2021 at 3:31 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

Soooo our cruise was canceled and we decided that we should probably stay in the US with everything going on right now. Does anyone have any suggestions for somewhere romantic? We've never been to the state and I'm not a big nature lover but I wouldn't mind the views, hiking, the springs and some good adventures. Any advice would help.

Thank You!

I’ve never been to Colorado but I’d love to go! I don’t know when you are planning on going, but I just googled and found an article https://www.brides.com/most-romantic-getaways-in-colorado-5120047 would absolutely try to go to Garden of the Gods which is in Colorado Springs. Aspen is a ski resort town, can’t go wrong with Denver I think they have a nice city scene. Telluride is a small mining town that’s in a box canyon, more historical things but it is near a golf/ski resort.

With covid, we've also just decided that it was better to stay in the US and booked our honeymoon in Colorado. We are going to Vail (though was very tempted by Aspen too) and Denver but it's going to be more of a winter one with skiing so not sure if that's what you are looking for? I'm a sucker for winter wonderland, pretty lights and cozy fireplace. But in your case, might be worth looking into the surrounding areas (vail, Dillon, etc) since it's all mountains if you want to hike.

We were thinking of Vail. I'm also a sucker for pretty lights and a cozy fireplace. We're going in mid-October so I'm glad it won't be in the dead of winter although I do want to try skiing one day. We want something relaxing more than anything (and good food lol)

Coloradan here - just as a heads up we do get snowstorms in October and even more chances for them in the mountains, so go with a vehicle that can handle snow (and pack warm). I had family visit in mid-October and we got hit with a snowstorm. Be mindful that some mountain passes close after September heading into the mountains from Denver.

Vail is beautiful any time of year. Breckenridge is also a good, and less expensive, option. For a nice hot spring soak, we are fond of Mt. Princeton. They have an option to rent out an entire spring fed pool, which is super relaxing.

    Happy to share any info!

We visited Colorado last November and went to the Rocky Mountain national park. It was so beautiful. I recommend taking medicine for the elevation though.
