soon2bMartin, on July 31, 2015 at 1:05 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 12

We live in Greenvile, South Carolina and I DO NOT FLY (terrified) I feel like we are limited to where we can go.. I thought about a cruise or Disney. Any other suggestions? Smiley smile

Is there any town or city within what you feel is an acceptable driving range that you really want to visit? I'm terrified of flying too. FH and I are taking a honeymoon in a neat little town not too far away from where we live. I've never been there and he hasn't been in a long time.

What about a trip on a train? There's one that goes through the Rockies and another that goes through Canada that sound pretty romantic to me.

Personally, I'm 100x's more scared of ships than planes. Something about not knowing what's down there. lol

Cruising is a good option. Or maybe a cute small town near you within driving distance. Do you have a lot of time? You could also drive to a near by state. You could drive down to Florida or over to Tennessee.

Cumberland Island, Georgia would be an amazing spot to honeymoon and not too far from you.

I would say don't limit yourself. Find somewhere amazing you want to visit, and brainwash yourself onto a flight if it's somewhere that requires a flight. That's what I'm doing. My honeymoon will be my very 1st flight ever, and I just turned 40. I'm just going to suck it up knowing it will be an amazing time once I get there. Hope you find a great honeymoon spot regardless of whether you decide to fly or not.

We have a full week.. I so badly wish I could make myself fly. But the thought of it makes me want to faint! Even seeing a plane take off makes me sick haha. He's never been on a cruise. I have once. He's the sweetest tho, he wants to go to Disney because I have never been. And I would like to go while we are childless!

Disney is fun! if you tell them you just got married, they give you a special button. sometimes the workers will give you stuff like an extra fast pass

Cruises are really fun...you won't have much privacy at the pools, etc, but it's a great way to see beautiful beaches without flying!

Disney is awesome! My parents went there for their honeymoon Smiley smile I went as a grad trip to myself when I finished my degree. Always a fun time for all especially if you and your FH are young at heart together.

I will also add two cents on flying... you need to try it at least once in your life, don't limit yourself to immediate surroundings the world is a big beautiful place! Suck it up, drug up and get on that plane Smiley smile Ask your doctor about suitable anti anxiety meds that could work for you. Your Honeymoon is the best excuse to take on a new adventure.

I totally vote for cruising, (and I'm terrified to fly too) but maybe after all the wedding stress is over, look at over coming it? I was lucky enough to fly all over the world before fear set in, but it makes me sad to think that I'll never see Paris or Tuscany......

It's something I want to work on for sure!
