Honeymoon ideas for September

Briana, on January 31, 2024 at 11:09 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 4
My fiancé and I are getting married September 8th and are planning on a 5-7 day honeymoon. We were planning on Jamaica but now that the danger level has risen to a 3 we have crossed that off our list. Any suggestions?

Honestly Jamaica still seems like a good option if you stay in the resort areas. In the US or Canada, you can get harmed on a random Saturday at the bar or even going to school, especially in a major city, so just being vigilant and aware on vacation since it's not a theme park just like you are at home wouldn't affect my options. Every country has their issues and, if it's not a level 4 or higher, staying in the nicer areas will be perfectly safe.

If you're concerned about travel safety, you could stay local and do a honeymoon in your home state or country. There's Key West or a cabin in the mountains near Georgia or Washington state. You can also do a honeymoon in the coast of Florida like St Augustine or Clearwater. Again, if safety is your main priority please stay vigilant wherever you go just like you would at home.

How about checking out some other tropical destinations like Hawaii, the Maldives, or Costa Rica?

You are getting married on my birthday! Smiley smile Must be a good day! We are looking for budget friendly options as well since we are paying for everything ourselves. I agree with what some other posters have said that Jamaica has had travel warnings for safety for as long as I can remember and the level goes up and down, but if you stay in the resort areas I've never heard of people having issues. There are also some places in Mexico outside of the mainstream resort areas like Cancun and Cozumel that have a similar feel. We were looking at Costa Rica but it's rainy season there in September (we are getting married the 21st). So now we are looking at more remote resort areas in Mexico and options in the Caribbean. Good luck!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Portugal is one of the safest, most peaceful countries in the world, with a low crime index. To ensure a safe and enjoyable exploration of the city, keep your belongings secure, use anti-theft bags, and be cautious in crowded places. Opt for well-lit streets at night, and avoid poorly lit or deserted areas. September is still pretty warm in Portugal at an average temperature of 23°C, with some rains but not much. Autumn is an excellent time for wine enthusiasts to visit, as it coincides with the grape harvest season. You can also enjoy hiking and exploring nature.
