Honeymoon help... cruise, Las Vegas OR carribbean?

Private User, on March 17, 2016 at 3:57 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 14

We are not sure what we want. We live in Florida and love water, nightlife and activities. Ant thoughts?

Cruise to the Caribbean! You get to see multiple countries, and its very relaxing being on the cruise.

Vegas will give you great options for dinners at nice restaurants, shows, and good bars. Caribbean cruise will give you gorgeous beaches and a tropical island vibe where you can drink, suntan, go snorkelling, etc. You could still suntan and swim at a Vegas pool. It really depends on what you want!

Personally, I would go with an all-inclusive caribbean resort. It will be the biggest bang for your buck but nicer than a cruise!

Since you live in Florida you can probably get a discount on a cruise

If you haven't been to Vegas before I wouldn't choose it for a special trip like a honeymoon. I hate Vegas. It isn't the heat- I grew up in the desert in San Bernardino. Last time I had to go to Vegas I was a pack a day smoker- and the smoke everywhere was still too much for me. Maybe things have changed since then- but smoky casinos and smoky restaurants and clusters of drunken people blowing smoke clouds by you even when you are outside walking between casinos is just not fun. There aren't any water activities either, unless you count water parks- but community water filled with children skeeves me out even more than constant smoke. I would pick something in the Caribbean.

We are doing a Carnival Cruise out of Orlando. Carnival cruises are pretty cheap, especially out of Florida. You could get a nice room, food is included in the price, and they have drink packages. There's stuff to do every day you're on the ship and then they have a formal night or two (depends on how many days your cruising for). They have so much food, pools, night clubs, etc, you'll never be bored. Depending on which one you choose it'll take you to different places and waking up in an entirely new place is a really neat feeling and if you and your FH are up for it you can go to some really neat excursions each day you're in port or you can just hang out and do some shopping or hanging by the beach instead. I don't know when your wedding date is but you can get better prices on them if you book way farther out. We aren't getting married until April 2017 and are booking our cruise this week because they are having a really great sale that ends the 25th of this month.

Cruise will make you feel like you are really away from it all but it could be crowded when you step out of your cabin. Las Vegas could be reclusive if you stay in your resort.

You could contact a professional travel agent that knows both--search on honeymoons @ www.vacation.com

@Leesey you're gonna love Grand Cayman. I've been and wanted to find a cruise to go there with FH but we couldn't find one that worked with our date. When I went to, I went to the turtle farm and it was adorable!

My only downfall with a cruise is you should only go if you've been before. I get super sea sick and I always thought I would LOVE cruises until I figured that out...

Depends on when you are getting married. Vegas in the summer feels like you are burning in hell. I vote cruise!

We are going to Vegas. If you decide on Vegas, recommend you rent a car. We're going on day trips to the Hoover Dam, Mt Zion national park and a few other places.
