Honeymoon Help (All-Inclusives--Sandal's vs Iberostar?)

Gina, on January 24, 2011 at 3:50 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7

My Fiance and I are in the process of wedding planning and honeymoon planning. He was originally looking into Sandal's Antigua. After reading several reviews (either loving or hating the resort) we have now been introduced to Iberostar All-Inclusive resorts, specifically in Jamaica. Anyone been to either of these places or have any other suggestions or ideas for an All-Inclusive with fabulous service and high quality food? THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Oh my...the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall looks devine. It is the upper echelon of the Iberostar resorts in Jamaica. It is adults only. I would go there over a Sandals in a heartbeat. For what you get at the Iberostar Grand, you would have to pay like $6 or $7K at Sandals. Have you checked out Trip Advisor for info? Also, there is another board that a travel agent owns. HIs name is Mr. Iberostar. His info and forums deal strictly with Iberostar resorts.

Happy travel planning! I am seriously jealous.

I have never been to iberostar in Jamaica but I have in Mexico and in Punta Cana and I can tell you that they are first class hotels with great staff, food, rooms and everything else! I love iberostar. The new grand hotels are supposed to absolutely magnificent. But they are very pricey but from what I understand...worth every penny. I say go for iberostar!

Have never been to Jamica, but we are actually considering the Grand Rose Hall, as well, for our honeymoon. Loved the Iberostar in Mexico! VERY clean, wonderful service, and good food (big selection, but after awhile the food all seems to taste the same...but I think that's pretty much expected at AI's). My travel agent recommended the Grand over Sandals...her take is that Sandal's charges way too much for the same ammentities, food, etc...as other resorts. Also, she claims the Grand is more luxurious. Hope this helpsSmiley smile

We both went to Sandals recently and LOVED it. THe food and service was outstanding. My FH went to Iberostar and said the food and service was equally awesome for a lot less money. As far as luxury goes, it just depends which Sandals and which Iberostar location you are at. We recently went to the Excellence in Mexico...that tops both of our lists for luxery, service, and food. Good luck Smiley smile

By the way, Sandals has been 65% off "for a limited time" now for almost two years. We went in 2009 and payed 2500 for four days... but most of that was the flight since we went to St. Lucia. Don't shy away from Sandals because of cost...they're still running that deal.
