Is anyone proceeding with the wedding but delaying the honeymoon?

Yes we are going to take one later because right now the wedding has took alot of time and money. Plus dealing with other things and we will be tired and dont want to sleep half of our honeymoon in bed sleeping and not playing with each other 😏lol🤣🤣and going out and enjoying it.

We're not going to go on our honeymoon immediately after the wedding. My partner has just got a new job starting a few weeks before the wedding ,and they have already approved a lot of time off for our wedding (as we need some days off to get legally married before the actual wedding), so it felt a bit pushy for him to ask for yet more time off having only just started.

We also made a very last minute decision to get married this year so our savings aren't quite there for a honeymoon yet. I expect we will either go for some winter sun or possibly in the Spring (our wedding is this September).

I don't think its weird at all in this day and age to push the honeymoon back - loads of people do it!

We were married last month and our honeymoon is in August. We are doing something low key and not too far but planning a bigger vacation for our anniversary. Also I can say I am very glad we didn’t do anything right after - I was totally exhausted for days and would not have enjoyed it!

We got married in May and our honeymoon is in July because of my work schedule. Not sure that really counts as a "delay" though.

I can definitely understand that. We're going to be careful about how we do things and stretch ourselves out too thin... heck we won't be any good to each other

We booked a cheap cruise for right after the wedding, but postponing the longer honeymoon about 6 months.

Yea we have a long delay.....we are getting married in September this year but going on our honeymoon in 2024. We wanted to have time to save for the trip and in 2023 we are doing a family vacation to celebrate my parents retiring so 2024 it is.

We're getting married in September, but are thinking of taking our Honeymoon in February.

FH just got the opportunity to buy an established business from his cousin, so we are in the midst of transferring the business over to FH, the deal will officially be done January 1st and winter will be his slow months.

We are considering doing a mini weekend away the week after just to get away and decompress but nothing fancy.

We're waiting about 7 months after the wedding to go on the honeymoon. Its just the best time of year for traveling to that destination and works for all our friends who are joining.

I went on a honeymoon a few weeks later. but i don't think it's uncommon to go later whenever it's right for your timing. especially with covid there might be places people want to go but can't because it's still restricted. i've friends who are waiting to do honeymoons later like maybe for their first anniversary or something

My husband doesn’t fly (he is horribly scared of it) so we were going to go on a cruise but our government only allowed cruising to resume in March this year so we had planned to go on a cruise in November as our honeymoon almost a year after our wedding. It has now been cancelled (due to the ship being redeployed to Miami instead of Sydney for the season) so now are having no honeymoon!
