Honeymoon Cruise

Brianna, on September 5, 2019 at 9:49 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 25
Should I wear my ring during our honeymoon or should I leave it at home?

(P.S. my fingers are so super swollen in this picture but I wanted to show you the size)

We will be cruising to Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Mexico, and to the Bahamas come March for our honeymoon and while I would love to take pictures on our honeymoon with my ring- I’m very concerned it will draw unwanted attention to us traveling on the boat and while on land. I have insurance on it but I’m still very concerned being my wedding ring and band its irreplaceable to me because the memories we have with it.

Thoughts? Experiences?

I would leave it at home if it were me. I'd hate to have it stolen or lost!

Leave it at home. Wear a fashion ring!

If you're nervous, leave it. We went to an all-inclusive in Dominican Republic. I wore my bridal set. I locked my jewelery in the room safe while we were swimming and wore it for dinner, etc. I had no issues.

If you’re not comfortable leave it at home and wear a “travel ring” that is costume. I wear mine everywhere I go because it’s insured and I can have it made again.

I agree that I'd leave it at home. Maybe you can purchase a pretty silicone band to wear on the cruise! I personally feel naked without anything on my ring finger

I had both rings with me since I went straight from my destination wedding to honeymoon so no option there. I left my ring at all times in the safe at our hotel and only wore the wedding band. This was enough for me. After our wedding I have not travel with my engagement ring only the wedding band. For a cruise maybe leave the ring in your safe when you’re in port on the different countries but wear it around the cruise when you go to dinner.

I’d leave it, best to have peace of mind. I bought a fake ring off amazon to wear for traveling and the beach/pool. Best thing I’ve bought! It’s somewhat similar to my real one and it’s so nice to not have to worry about it. I’ve used it a ton over summer.

I think it just depends. We are going on a cruise to the Bahamas. When we leave the ship and go swimming, I plan on locking it in the safe.

Leave it at home. You will get hassled enough in Jamaica just by being a tourist, you don’t want to add to that the fact that you have a flashy ring. Plus, I’d be super worried about wearing it in or near water, which is mostly all you do on a cruise. 😁
I don’t think the silicone band is that much better... it says I have something fancy that I’m not wearing at this specific moment. The best advice I was given was to not wear it at all or go get a very plain gold band (perhaps even in your trip! New memories!) and wear that to travel instead.

I'd bring it but leave it in the safe when you get off the boat at the ports and DO NOT swim with it in the ocean. I went snorkeling in Mexico and watched my favorite ring (wasn't engaged at the time) sink to the bottom of the ocean because it fell off my finger. Something about the salt water shrinks your fingersSmiley smile

We took a cruise for our honeymoon. I took my rings. I locked them in the safe when we were by the pool or in port and then wore them at dinner. I did have a cheap set off amazon to wear during the day so there was something on my finger.

I personally always wear my ring and have worn it on many vacations including cruises since we have been engaged. I only took it off when we did shore excursions which included swimming/the beach. Our stateroom had a safe so I put my ring in the safe along with my passport and other important items. I think your ring will be fine, cruises are like a floating hotel not a beach resort so it's not like you're constantly in the water.

That ring is so so so beautiful! Personally, I would leave it at home as I would be too worried about something happening.

We bought work/travel wedding bands from JVL-Jewelry. We paid $50 for both of ours.

I left my ring at home when we went to Hawaii. I didn't want to stress about losing or damaging it, especially since we did a ton of swimming and outdoor things.
