Honeymoon: Cabo San Lucas vs. Puerto Vallarta? HELP!

Carlene, on March 7, 2017 at 5:44 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

We cannot decide on a honeymoon destination. Anyone been to both Cabo or PV and can shed some light?! We will be going in March of 2018. Thanks!

I've been to both, Cabo is more of a busy party town, depending on where your at pretty loud and crowded. Puerto Vallarta is a more laid back slow town, quiet and less crowded. At least from my experiences (it's been a few years.) It really depends on what kind of honeymoon you want, do you want an exciting party, or a beach relaxation trip?

Haven't been to both, but we're going to Cabo and staying further away from the center of town. Something to keep in mind - not all of the beaches in Cabo are swimmable due to the currents. For us, it came down to having a direct flight instead of having to stop.

I've never been to Cabo, but we went to Puerto Vallarta on our honeymoon and loved it! We went downtown for a day, did a few excursions, and sat on the beach! It's definitely not a club or party town, but we had the most relaxing vacation ever!

I have only been to Nuevo Vallarta (right outside of Puerto Vallarta) and we loved it. The resort we stayed at was terrible (Riu Jalisco), but we loved the town. We also stayed close to a town called Bucieras (a 20 minute walk from our resort), that was fantastic. I have always thought of Cabo as being a party city, which is not us at all. I would definitely go back to Puerto Vallarta in a heart beat.

I've been to both several times. Cabo is a party town with a non-swimmable beach and a lot of AI's. It's usually sunny, with desert-like conditions. I actually like the adjoining San Jose del Cabo better. Just north of Cabo is a town called Todos Santos, which is really lovely.

PV is more tropical, with a better chance of having swimmable beaches. It's a old city with lots of history and friendly people. Bucerias is a great little town close to PV. Just north of that is Sayulita, which (as a former surfer) would be my choice of places to stay on that coast.
