Honeymoon 2 months after the wedding?

Jennifer, on July 29, 2018 at 1:24 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 10
Hi all...so some background. We're having a small destination wedding on August 11th in Florida where my FH'S family is. But we aren't that financially well off. We're spending a lot of money on the wedding as far as travel goes (it's myself, FH and my 2 kids) plus hotel, so because of this we're delaying a honeymoon for a few months. We're planning on going to Vegas in October thanks to a deal on a vacation package. Can we still consider that our honeymoon, even if it is 2 months after the wedding?

Of course! Some people even will do their honeymoon a year after. Personally if THAT much time had passed I wouldn’t feel like it was my honeymoon anymore (though a lot of people are fine with it) but only 2 months is still very close to your wedding and can absolutely be considered your honeymoon

Absolutely! My honeymoon is going to be 8 months after my wedding bc that's when I can get off work.

That's also a issue for FH. Because of the wedding being in Florida, he can't take that much time off in such a short period of time.

We’re taking our honeymoon a little before 2mos also. Wanted to save more & go when the weather is better in our destination..you’re still in the “honeymoon phase” so I don’t see why not lol

My coworker was married last year in July and they waited until October to go on their honeymoon.

Yes, you definitely can Smiley smile My cousin for example went on his honeymoon one year later on their one year wedding anniversary.

Absolutely. We got married in December and are taking our honeymoon in October. In fact, according to my travel agent, most places still give you honeymoon perks within the first year of your wedding.

FH and I took our honeymoon 5 months before our wedding, and I still call it our honeymoon. There are no set rules on these things, and lots of people delay their honeymoon for whatever reason. If it is easier for you and FH to take your honeymoon a couple months after the wedding, then do it!

Yes, I knew a young lady that took her cruise honeymoon 11 months after she was married because of their work schedules and having a family member babysit her small child. We are going to have our honeymoon a month later because of time and having someone take care of my elderly mother. Just enjoy time together away.
