Hired Hair & Makeup...but just hair?

Hey folx! I hired a friend/my hair stylist to do my hair and makeup for my wedding day. I ADORE the way she did my hair, a little less thrilled with the makeup look and I much prefer to do that myself. What do you think is the best way to tell her? I appreciate everything she's doing for me, and want to be sure she's paid for her services, I just don't want any hurt feelings. Ya know?

You can just tell her you thought it through and you’d feel like you are missing a step if you don’t do it your self! I have a makeup artist in the family but I prefer doing my own makeup for this reason. So I told her I’d like her to do my makeup for my bridal shower but maybe not my wedding day. Only because I WILL feel like I’m missing something if I don’t lol

Can you give her feedback on what you did and didn't like about your makeup look? Many people do trials and then adjust the look so it's more what they wanted for the wedding.

I think its pretty normal to not feel all that comfortable with people putting stuff directly on your face. Just say you feel more comfortable doing your own makeup but LOVE what she did with your hair.

We did a trial, which was so fun! I'm glad we got to play with product (I have oily skin which is just difficult when it comes to event makeup) to see what works and what didn't
