Help!!!

Sara, on January 27, 2020 at 11:03 PM Posted in Wisconsin Planning 0 11
Help! I am having a crisis and I need some input! Booked my venue, photographer, and flowers for September 26. I went to go book my wedding block and found out there is an International Golf Tournament an hour away from my venue. The problem is that all of the hotels are COMPLETELY booked. I have managed to get rooms here and there from 5 different hotels all in different directions and 45 minutes from the venue. They are also double and triple the original prices. Almost all of our family is from out of town and needs accomodations and some family have said they can't afford to come. I also have a bridesmaid backing out because of the hotel price. I have an option to change my venue to another date a few weeks earlier but I would lose my photographer/flower deposits.

What do I do?!?? Change the date to help guests out, or keep the date and just hope my guests find the money for the hotels?

Is there a possibility for guests to look into airbnbs or are all of those booked/really expensive too?

Oh no! Hopefully you don't lose too much in the way of deposits if you do change your date. If there are a lot of guests that would not be able to come due to this, changing the date is probably for the best though.

Hey there, Sara! I'm really sorry to hear about this. I would advise contacting all your vendors and seeing if it would be possible to change your date. If they can't, do a count of how much money you would be loosing on deposits. You can then weigh up the pros and cons of sticking or changing and making a decision. I hope you can get this resolved Smiley heart

I would try to change your date. I also had considered this date -- luckily my priest gave me the heads up about the golf tournament.

In the alternative, where are you getting married?

I have the same exact issue here in Green Bay, due to Ryder cup!! I am sick of excuses from hotels saying they can’t accommodate me because they are saving room blocks for people who are going to this event over an hour away from me.: ugh frustrated bride too!

I ended up having to move my date to September 5th. But that may change too because of the virus. If that's the case where we need to postpone the party, we plan on getting married on the 26th. We received a beautiful board with that date from his sister for Christmas.
