Help, November Wedding??

Casey, on June 18, 2020 at 4:21 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11
Hi all, my self is 11/14/2020. My venue sent an email about two weeks ago saying everything was green lights according to the state and they'd contact us again in September to check in.

We have not sent StDs, which usually go out 8 - 6 months ahead (according to everything I've seen/read.) We're officially 5 months out! I can't put it off any longer- I feel like I need to decide NOW if I'm sending late STDs or none (I already feel like the window may have passed tbh.) I guess my first question is, do you think it's too late? Or is late better than not at all? They'd be arriving 4 months in advance at this point...My other thoughts/questions are should I send with info on how things may change due to Corona or do you think people know that and it isn't needed? Is it better to skip STDs incase we have to lower our guest count or better to send them them notify later if that happens? I'm just so upset and torn.. I don't know which of those 2 options is worse but I'm thinking the later?
Any advice appreciated, I know other brides are having similar issues so I guess I'd love to hear what you think and/or have done. I feel paralyzed with indecision...

I would still send them. You can have some printed and mailed to you be next week and in the mail by Friday if you have time to stuff, address and send.

At this point because it is cutting it very close, I would even think about adding a secondary platform like a wedding website. Include the link on the STD and recommend people keep checking back for more updates and information. The website doesn’t have to be fancy with photos and all of that hoopla, just enough to keep people in the loop when you need to make a drastic decision.

I agree with PP in sending a simple STD with reference to a wedding website. I ordered STD postcards from Zazzle and with postage I paid less than $50 (I think it was $40 in total)

My StDs are (thankfully) something I can have done by tomorrow to be honest. I had things well in advance, they don't sent put together and mailed yet. I also have a website made so that is also ready. We just kept putting it off with the uncertainty and a general idea looming that we will have to postpone..

Date twins! I literally mailed out save the dates yesterday. Our engagement session had been postponed with the virus. Did they go out later than I typically would have preferred? Yes. Are they still giving our guests an advance notice of our wedding date? Yeh! If you want to still send them, I say go for it!

Also, while waiting for the actual cards to come in, I typed our guests’ addresses and printed them as labels so they could quickly be put on the envelopes, along with our return address stamp. This really helped make it a fast turn around time from the time the save the date cards came in to the time I sent them out!
