Help me find our dream stay

Erika, on March 13, 2021 at 5:23 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 9
I’m trying to plan a honeymoon for Lake Tahoe. (North shore or West shore) trying to find romantic hotels so far only one I’ve found is Postmarc but it’s on the south shore & fiancé doesn’t want to stay on that side of Tahoe. Any suggestions? I was hoping for a jacuzzi tub in the room and close to hiking trails

Travelocity.com or tripadvisor.com but take reviews with a grain of salt

I’m not sure if they have a jacuzzi tub but look into west shore cafe. It’s an awesome restaurant on the water and they have a couple of rooms too (2-5 rooms I believe so super small). We were going to get married there pre-covid and it’s so awesome.
Sunny side restaurant & lodge is also super nice.
Both of these are on the west shore. There’s a nice bike trail there. Also have you looked into Truckee? It’s not right on Tahoe, but it’s about a 15-20min drive and such a cute town.

(Sorry I had more thoughts haha) You can also look into the Hyatt in Incline village, it has its own private beach. But it is also a casino so not the most romantic.
There just aren’t that many super romantic hotels in the north/west shores because it’s a little less touristy. Would you be into renting an Airbnb?
Also I understand your fiancé isn’t looking to stay in south lake, if you change your mind look into The Landing Resort & Spa. That’s where we got married and the rooms are phenomenal, they definitely have jacuzzi tubs. The Edgewood is also insanely luxurious. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions, I love in Reno and I’m in Tahoe every weekend.

I’d be open to Airbnb just wasn’t sure if he wanted to cook & clean during honeymoon. I just saw the west shore one you were talking about yesterday & the landing resort looked amazing to

I mean you don’t have to cook during the stay, there are plenty of restaurants you can go to just like you would at a hotel. Airbnb’s might offer you more choices

I agree with the Airbnb suggestion. You will likely be able to find one in a location you like, with a hot tub. My parents used to live at north lake so I am more familiar with the area in general than with any particular hotel. And like Anais said, north lake has fewer hotels (but plenty of motels and lodges!) that south lake, but to me the less-touristy/casino vibe is absolutely the reason to stay on the north shore.

Truckee is a little less touristy but still touristy. It is a super charming little town though, one of my favorites!
Not sure if you’re looking for any recommendations but if you like beer go to Fifty fifty brewing and/or Alibi Brewing. They’re both brewpubs with a cute outdoor area and have fantastic beers.
If you like baked goods, try cornerstone bakery. Also go to Donner Lake in Truckee, it’s beautiful. Much smaller than Tahoe but still very cool!Sorry I literally love Truckee haha
