Hawaii Honeymoon

Rosario, on May 1, 2018 at 11:03 AM Posted in Honeymoon 1 13
FH & I really want to have our honeymoon in Hawaii but have no idea what hotel we should book or what island we should stay at. We’ve never been. Any recommendations?

I've been to Oahu and Maui, and I loved both. Maui definitely has the most to do. As for hotel recommendations, my grandma paid for our entire trip, and we stayed at the Disney resort because we had little cousins with us, so I'm not too sure on that one. Good luck!

We have been to Maui and Kauai, and loved both but Kauai was our favorite! We stayed at the Sheraton Kauai Poipu Beach and I would highly recommend it. Location, beach, pool and rooms were all great.

Following! Currently researching to book our Hawaii honeymoon and I'm SO overwhelmed! We know we are going to Honolulu, Oahu and than Maui. I just don't know if I should book everything separate or do one of those packages. I've heard the packages can actually end up costing more.

Oahu is the island that has the Disney hotel (Aulani). I think you might mean there is more to do on Oahu since there are more museums and cityish activities as well as hiking and the beach.

Kauai is awesome! We are getting married here and I would definitely recommend this island as a honeymoon location as well. Poipu has some really pretty resorts and there are also tons of condo rentals there if you wanted to go that route.

We are using a travel agent, because I decided that I didn't want to deal with researching a major trip along with planning every detail of wedding day. But we are going to Oahu (Waikiki) and Big Island (Kona) and staying in the Hilton at each one! They are HUGE and have a real resort feel to them!

Do you like Airbnb at all? There are tons in Hawaii. That’s what I plan to do when we go because I’d really Ike to have that feeling of actually living in Hawaii even if it’s just for a couple weeks! But I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

How are you splitting that up exactly? Only asking because that seems like a good idea.

We are flying to Oahu (Waikiki) and spending 5 nights there, then flying to Hawaii (Kona) and spending 6 nights there. The travel agent booked all our transfers and rentals which was helpful. I am currently researching things I really want to do on each island, then I am going to give them to my TA so that she can help us make reservations any where we want to go!

When you find out things you want to do in each place, definitely let me know. That's probably going to be our plan!
