My fiance and I were originally planning on 4 days on Oahu and 4 days on Maui (though we've since changed plans). Both islands have lots to do and beautiful resorts! How long are you planning on taking for your honeymoon? If you're planning on a week or more, I'd definitely try to go to at least two islands! If less than a week, I'd stick to one island and see as many sights on that one island as possible. What types of things are you wanting to do during your honeymoon? Beaches? Hiking? Excursions? Historical sites? That may help determine which island(s) to visit!

Since we have two small daughters with the thought of them being with family i was thinking we'd do 5 days. Honestly we'd probably be interested in all of that, we love beaches, historical sites are always beautiful, finding some sort of waterfall / hiking would be cool too. Excursions are a must as well! From my small research it looked like Maui was a top place for honeymoons.

Based on that, I think I'd recommend Oahu too! Lots of waterfalls and hiking available. Beautiful beaches, check out Waikiki! It's touristy, though supposed to have a lot to do. Downtown Honolulu should have a lot of good restaurants and shopping. There's Pearl Harbor for a historical site. For excursions, swimming with dolphins, sunset/dinner boat cruises, parasailing, snorkeling, luaus, ziplines, helicopter tours, etc. Many of these things can be done on Maui as well.

But with that being said, Maui should also have everything that you're looking for! Definitely a popular place to visit for a honeymoon, beautiful sights, lots of good restaurants, etc. I think that no matter what island you choose, it'll be a great honeymoon for you!

Oahu and Maui are both beautiful! It’s hard to recommend a resort as being “affordable” without knowing your budget. Hawaii is not a cheap place to visit!

I have been looking at Hawaii for a while now as I want to go there next year for a holiday. We are looking at just staying at Oahu and staying near Waikiki beach. There are heaps of things to do in the area as well. When you say resort do you mean luxury or just a nice place to stay that won't cost too much? Smiley smile

We are also doing Hawaii- Oahu, Kauai, and Bug Island. For Oahu I chose the Moana Surfrider based on many of the reviews here on WW. It’s a bit pricey, but a spurge since it’s our honeymoon. I’ve stayed at the outrigger reef before and loved it.

I priced it via Costco, sams, Expedia, etc. and found the cheapest rate by using my AAA card direct with them.

I have booked us in to the Aqua Oasis. It doesn't have the same amount of facilities as other places but it's close to a lot of restaurants and malls and about an 8 minute walk to Waikiki beach. It's got pretty good ratings on Trip Advisor as well. Be aware that every hotel has a facilities fee for each night as well as taxes for the stay. https://www.aquaaston.com/hotels/aqua-oasis

Hello! If doing Kauai, I'd check out the Grand Hyatt Kauai.

I have also been to Oahu and Maui so please let me know if you have any questions!

If you aren’t vaccinated you have to produce a negative test. The test can be performed no earlier than 72 hours prior to departure and has to be done by one of their approved testing vendors. You then upload it to their website and complete a questionnaire 24 hours prior to arrival.

It’s a lot if you plan to do it the same weekend of the wedding. Oahu also requires negative tests for some restaurants, so you may have to continue to test while you’re there. My understanding is the other islands don’t have the same requirement.

You can check this one out on Oahu. It’s very reasonably priced, but not beach front.
