Hawaii Honeymoon Price?

Private User, on September 19, 2012 at 10:31 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 9

We are planning to go to Kona area for 8 or 9 days. I've been looking at prices. We are still 9 months out from the wedding, but just afraid to book last minute. We would be flying out of Nashville.

Just wondering what a good price is for hotel and flight.

We (more I) want to stay at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. I found flight and hotel for about $3100. I don't know if we should book now or wait?

There are many different options that would allow you to put a deposit on a package

and add activities as it gets closer to your honeymoon, also depending on where you are traveling from would depend on price of hotel and air,

please feel free to email me *********@*****.*** for more information!

If you're loyal to an airline (FH swears by delta) you can look into doing a vacation package through them. if you're willing to stay at alternatives to hotels (FH and i went on vacation to oahu for a week and spent $800 on the condo we stayed in!) check out places like homeaway.com. also if you're looking to do a lot of activities but don't know where to start, look into getting the Entertainment Book for the cities you are looking to visit: http://www.entertainment-savings-offers.com/hawaii/book/

FH and I are staying in Oahu at the Royal Hawaiian for 7 nights and 8 days. Hotel, flight and rent a car costs $2,917.00. Our trip was booked through Pleasant Holidays and is our wedding gift from my FMIL Smiley smile

We are going to Maui. May I suggest looking at homeaway.com. You can rent a condo for a fraction of the price of a hotel. We booked our 1 bdrm condo and are only paying $1200 for 16 nights. When we looked into booking a package it was going to cost us close to $4500. We did a little extra work and are only paying $3400. (we have 4 people)

Also, it is way to soon to book flights. The price will go down. I have researched this for over a year and the suggested time to buy any flight if possible is 3-4 months out. We got our r/t tickets to Maui for $468/person. Other people going to our wedding paid closer to $600 because they bought their tickets earlier. All of the islands have different prices to fly into so decide on a budget and when the flight price hits that number go ahead and buy.

Just a suggestion, I'd also book a rental car. Do it now for however cheap you can find and keep checking back and rebook if the price drops. Almost all (couple exceptions) rental car sites allow for cancellation w/o penalty. Things are pretty spread out in Kona and unless you're ok being stuck at a resort the entire stay, you'll need a way to get around.

We booked the HM part of our package through Costco. It came with a lot of extras and I believe they have deals for Kona. We paid just over $2500 for 7 nights, ov suite, $200 resort credit, convertible car, dinner show with drinks, luau tickets and two for one massage.

I agree with Jennifer on the flight booking. We bought our air at the end of the spring for just under $500 pp.
