Hawaii Honeymoon - Maui & Kauai or Oahu (where on each island!?)

Jessica, on January 2, 2016 at 10:28 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 3

So we have finally decided to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon Smiley smile We'll be traveling there end of May-beginning of June 2017 (I'm early, I know! I love researching and planning though!), and we are definitely set on Maui but which part of Maui would be best? I've been looking at the Lahaina area on VRBO but if the weather is better on other parts of the island, please let me know!

Also, it's our first time in Hawaii so we'd like to island-hop. Problem is, we aren't sire which other island to choose. We aren't much into hiking/kayaking but love the nightlife, activities like snorkeling & ziplining, and would love to see volcanoes. I heard Oahu is great for nightlife but I also heard that the traffic is the worst and we don't want to spend all of our time driving.

Any help/tips at all would be appreciated! Especially any accommodations/dining we should check out.

Hi! We've been to Maui, Kauai, and we are going to the big island for our honeymoon.

Maui is so fun! Beautiful beaches, great shopping and lots of different geography to see. Lahaina is a super fun little town with lots of great shops and restaurants. We've stayed in Kaanapali and Kihei. Kaanapali is close to Lahaina. There are some great beaches at Kihei as well and we LOVED Three's Bar and Grill there. The live music was awesome!

No matter where you stay, make sure you do a snorkeling trip to Molokini Crater. We've done it a couple of times and loved it.

Kauai is amazingly beautiful. We did a kayaking trip down the Wailua River and it was the best thing we did. There is also the Waimea Canyon which is just stunning!

Can't wait to to the Big Island.... we are looking forward to do the star-gazing tour and the volcano tour!

We are going to Kauai for our honeymoon this August!!!! IF you like nightlife, Kauai is NOT the island for you. I think Kauai is the most beautiful, it's the most lush, it's what you would expect when you think tropical, but it is very low key. They don't have nightlife there, only local bars really, and even high rise hotels are banned there, so there aren't a ton of huge resorts (there are a few). There's a lot of outdoor activities in Kauai, but the ones you are looking for can be found in Oahu. So I think if you are looking for nightlife too, you should consider Oahu.
