Hawaii Honeymoon Help!

Allison, on March 3, 2022 at 11:59 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 11

Hey everyone,

My FH and I really want to do a Hawaii honeymoon in Maui! It is literally so overwhelming all of the choices there are for hotels! Has anyone ever stayed? If so where was the best resort honeymoon friendly place? We Love Marriott and their affiliate hotels. We would be going after our wedding in July- I know not the best time for Hawaii with the high volumes of people there for vacation.

I need help!! TIA!

I've stayed at the Aston Kaanapali Shores. I thought it was nice. Maybe not as nice as a Marriott, but reasonably priced, has a great pool and is in a good location. Hope that helps!

Wow, I see the Aston places posted a lot! Some look like a resort but others like private renters? Was that the case for you?

First time I booked through the hotel. I think technically it’s mostly time shares? This time we are going through airbnb which was less expensive. I think they also have villas but I didn’t stay there as I believe they are much more expensive. Only thing I didn’t like was that their pillows weren’t great haha. Other than that it was nice and it’s nice to have a kitchen.

The Waldorf Astoria Grand Wailea is stunningly beautiful, but it’s a Hilton, not Marriott. It’s definitely a mix of families and honeymooners!

Wailea is the more expensive part of the island. Kaanapali is where you'll find more options as far as price ranges. Also it is conveniently located to a lot of the activities available. Kihei is the residential area of Maui. I love Air BnBs in the Kihei area. If it were my first time on Maui, I would stay in the Kaanapali area, for sure! The best luau on Maui is Old Lahaina Luau (book early)

We’ve been to Maui twice and it’s one of our favorite places in the world. If you want a more honeymoon feel id suggest staying in Wailea. The Andaz is our favorite resort on Maui. North shore lookout is also an amazing air bnb. If you mean July of this year you need to book ASAP even if next year you watch the hotel prices and when they look good hop on them. Maui hotel prices go up and down wildly. Book a rental car ahead of time too if you can.
