Hawaii honeymoon: anywhere relatively inexpensive?

on June 21, 2019 at 8:11 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 11
Hello! My FH and I are trying to figure out where to go for our honeymoon and want to keep it relatively cheap! We will be leaving December 14th or 15th! Are there any inexpensive places to Ray in Hawaii that are good?? Or even other options that won’t break the bank? Thank you!

I think it would help if you explained what “inexpensive” means to you. What’s relatively cheap for someone may not be relatively cheap for you. As for giving you other other options I think it would be helpful if you told us what things you are looking for in a vacation? Like beach, adventure, etc. 😀.

That probably would have been helpful 😂 less than $5k for the two of us if possible? We both like beach and someplace warm!

That’s a generous budget and I think you can definitely do Hawaii!! I think 5k can get you a few days at a nice resort. The flights may eat up a big chunk of your budget though (not 100% sure regarding Chicago). If you are trying to save big then you may want to research which island(s) you want to go to. Maui I believe is the most expensive. Kauai and the big island I’d say probably has the most reasonably priced hotel rooms BUT you could look into Airbnb’s for cheaper lodging. You can also look on Groupon for some activities. For other options 5k will get you a luxury honeymoon on most Caribbean islands. For flights try sites like Skyscanner, google flights and cheapcaribbean.com. I think with the first two you can search “anywhere” and it will show you prices for every country and you can then pick one that fits your budget. Hope that helps a little.

Hawaii as you know has beautiful beaches and scenic things like hiking trails so if you're into nature that's already a freebie

I've been doing research for Hawaii, too! Try Costco! They have packages that include flights and hotels. You can also do add on's like tours, luaus and more! I did a test run with everything I thought we wanted, Sunday to Saturday in October, about $3100.

We stayed at the Royal Lahaina Resort on Maui and really enjoyed it. It was very nice, but not nearly as expensive as some of the other resorts. Husband booked the entire trip through Auto Club. Congrats! It should be an awesome trip -- and a wonderful break from Chicago in December! Smiley heart

I would check with AAA or Costco if you are members for either of them and check out their vacation packages! You can also try a travel agent and see what they can find in your budget. Sometimes they can work with tour companies to bundle things together and save you a bit.

I booked my honeymoon in Kauai, for next April! We are staying at the Kauai Marriott Resort! I am from the Chicagoland area as well! I got our flights, 7 nights, and a car rental booked through American Airlines for $4,300ish! Granted this hotel is not all inclusive but the resort is absolutely beautiful and my Fiance and I have found so many things to do and affordable places to eat! Kauai is said to be the least touristy of the islands. Booking through Costco or Marriott website was more expensive and you couldn't pick your seats for most flights which I did not want to risk. If you need any help or any questions feel free to message me!

We booked the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa for next April. 9 nights with a AAA rate and Oceaview room was $4,800 for 9 nights, and our flights out of Boston, MA were $1,600 (for both of us) through Hawaiian Airlines. Not sure out of Chicago, might be much cheaper! I don't know how long you're staying for but depending on the night, and what kind of room you're looking for, it may work for your budget!
