Hawaii elopement

Jenna, on January 18, 2021 at 8:25 PM Posted in Hawaii Planning 0 4
Hi everyone! My fiancé and I have been engaged for about a year now and have really pushed things off because of covid and how expensive it really is. Recently we’ve been talking about just going to Hawaii having a intimate ceremony with just parents and having the honeymoon at the same time. Has anyone done this? Does anyone have any tips or helpful information they can give? Smiley smile

My friend just came back from living over there and said tourism was limited and not sure if a lot is open. I would look into if you can elope there soon?

I am planning this, and we decided to postponed until August 2022. Tips, don’t be shocked with the price tag 😅 If you want it very simple and cheap, just hire an officiant and they have suggestions of public location. Bouquet and flower arch cost at least twice as in California, and hotels are not that cheap. I mean, for a wedmoon you sure want a decent hotel stay. It’s beautiful, but a lot of things are imported, and they rely on tourism, that explain the higher price. We already purchased the flight tickets for all 6 of us before covid, and Hawaiian airline won’t give us a refund so we stuck with Hawaii. Otherwise I will look into another island which I can get more for our money.

Hi Jenna! I'd start by researching where you'd want to stay for your honeymoon, then see what those places offer for weddings and elopements!! If you keep things small and simple they should be pretty easy! ❤️

Here's another discussion you should jump into where couples getting married in 2021 have been sharing their Hawaii wedding plans: Hawai'i Brides.

Hey there Smiley smile I've been to all of the Hawaiian islands and I cannot say enough good things about them! However, definitely make sure you talk to a professional travel agent before booking anything. I've read a lot of stories about people (general travelers, not just brides) experiencing extreme disappointment and not been allowed out of the hotel for 10 days due to Covid restrictions. https://www.hawaii-guide.com/hawaii-travel-restrictions

PS - My advice is that if you do have an intimate ceremony and then you want to have your honeymoon there too...you could have just you and your husband island-hop to another island! That way it's just the two of you on a separate, even more special getaway Smiley smile Best of luck!!!
