Have to post pone due to corona virus 😢

Together, on March 30, 2020 at 11:53 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

Our venue just called for our May 23 wedding and we need to postpone due to corona virus 😢 anyone have any funny (try to make light of the situation) ideas on announcements for this type of circumstance?

We got married on 3/22/20- paired down the guest list- did the wedding at home with the same vendors and put at least 50 guests on zoom!
    Really came out nicely!

I got a home designed email cancellation that said, I can't find a mask to match the lace in my dress , anywhere ... It may take months.

    Hi Together,

I'm so sorry you had to change your plans, but you are not alone. Keeping a positive attitude (through a funny announcement) can only help during this unprecedented situation.

Here are a couple of discussions with postponement examples:

    - Coronavirus Postpone Announcements

    - Website Wording for Postponed Weddings due to COVID-19

You'll also find more information (less funny) here: How to Word Your Wedding Postponement Announcement. There's also a glass half-full perspective piece: “My Wedding Was Postponed Due to Covid-19, but Now I Get a ‘Do-Over’” (with a link to a video at the bottom).

I'm wishing you the best of luck! Smiley heart
