Has anyone had their period on their big day?!

Such a random question but slightly freaking out. Worst nightmare is to have my period on my wedding day. Just wondering if that has happened to anyone else lol

Hi Sharyl! I almost did, but my IUD caused my cycle to shorten, so thankfully it came before my wedding.

There are things you can do to handle it and make the day less stressful. If you haven’t tried out a menstrual cup yet, I highly recommend it! It’s a very effective period product and can be worn for 12 hours. Instead of absorbing your period, it “catches” it in the little cup, so that’s why it can be worn for so long. If you do use it, I would recommend at least wearing a liner in case of leaks. There’s also period underwear (Thinx is one example of a brand) so that you aren’t having to mess with pads, tampons, etc. Also, CeCe will probably respond soon, but she knows of a pill that you can take to delay your period. I think she said you take it 3 times a day and then when you are ready to have your period, you stop taking it.

I did. It wasn’t ideal, but not a huge inconvenience. I wouldn’t stress. Smiley smile

I'm worried about this as I, for lack of a better word, hemorrhage dating that time. I did read something about a hormonal pill to take. But it was also a targeted ad so probably was fake. 😂

I thought I would but honestly my stress/excitement must’ve kicked my cycle into overdrive so it came early— exactly between my bach and my wedding. Thanks for looking out for me, body!! 🤣

I did on my day and it wasn’t so bad. As another mention, not ideal. My period started 2 days before my wedding, and on the day of, I wore a tampon and period underwear as backup. And at the end of the night, my husband was too exhausted and passed out to do anything on our wedding night. I was exhausted too.

Around February/ March I calculated when I'd be on my period and adjusted my birth control gradually to make sure I'd get my period the week before. That way it's all out of my system before the wedding/ honeymoon.

I had my period on our wedding day, came early due to stress, but I also had it on our honeymoon. Of course no woman wants to have it on the wedding day, but for me it didn't ruin or effect the level of enjoyment I had during the wedding.
