Has anyone been to a wedding recently with restrictions in place? Specifically MA (no dancing, masks unless eating or drinking, no walk-up bar). If so, how was it? Was it worth it? Did you have fun?

Yes. I did not have fun. I'm not a fan of the mask bc it gives me acne even though i wear a clean one each day

We had to be served food, no potluck style. There was caution tape on each row of chairs, sepearating up from the aisle walkway. No one was allowed to dance except for the nuptials

It took forever to be served food because there was only 2 servers for 50 people.
I personally, would have felt like I didn't get my money's worth after spending $20,000 like the nuptials did. I understand that certain sacrifices had to be made so that the venue could comply with COVID guidelines

I didn’t go but had our wedding. Masks, social distancing, no dancing etc and it was super fun. We only had 17 guests so very intimate, our closest friends and family and everyone said they loved it. We got to really hang out and talk to everyone which was awesome. The only issue is we had to be outside and it was cold, even with heaters and blankets.

It wasn't me personally, but my FH's mother and his aunt went to 2 Covid weddings with restrictions in place. The first one they said was really fun, it was outside on Block Island, RI and the bride and groom spent more of their budget on the 10 or so guests they were allowed to have, so they had great food, good drinks, etc. and they did a few games at the tables as well. The second one was a little bigger and I believe dancing was allowed, and they said that one was also nice. They had to wear their masks while dancing though, so if you dance a lot and are required to wear a mask, just keep in mind you may get a little warm!

I'm originally from MA and now in CT and planning my wedding in CT. I have been to 3 weddings since the pandemic started, the most recent being last week and was the most restricted. For that one, we had to wear our masks the whole time unless sitting, and it was nice that we were able to be there and celebrate with them, but the masks kinda put a damper on things when the venue is so strict. But all 3 weddings were in CT so there were dance floors and all had bars (with safety measures in place). I think if you can't have a dance floor or walk up bar, it definitely feel more like just a dinner. Personally, I wouldn't want to pay all that money just to give guests a nice dinner with no interaction with others or any celebrating. It really sucks, I'm sorry!
