My fiance and I have been thinking about doing a hand tying ceremony. We both love the idea of it and what it represents for us. With our wedding being pretty laid back and not super formal and neither of us being very religious we feel like it would be nice to incorporate it. Has anyone done this or know someone that has? Pros and cons? Also is there a officiant that does the hand tying ceremony in the indiana/ Indianapolis area?

What does a hand tying ceremony consist of if you don’t mind my asking? We plan to incorporate the jumping of the broom, our ancestors did it when they weren’t able to legally marry. Our broom will have our wedding colors in it.
