Hair Extensions For Wedding Day

Beryl, on January 7, 2020 at 9:18 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 2 33

Does anyone have any good recommendations for hair extensions? I've looked into Luxy and Bellami but want more than youtube recommendations. No one in my town does hair extensions so I'd have to travel 3+ hours to someone who does....I live in the high Rockies far away from civilization and it makes wedding planning quite challenging haha. Any suggestions?

I’m looking into hair extensions as well! The girl who dyes my hair wears them and hers look amazing and natural. She gets hers from Bellami so I’ll be getting mine from there. They’re also easy to style and clip in.

Are you willing to do clip in extensions? If you are insertnamehere.com has some nice ones. They are human hair and feel really soft and real.

Yes I just bought mine! Make sure you buy Remy hair, it’s the best quality and you can dye it to match your own hair. My hairdresser had me go to Sally’s and have one of the girls there help me pick out the color that best matched me. I also did the clip ins so I can use them again in the future. Just be careful, at least at Sally’s all hair extensions are final sale no refund.

I’m not sure where mine were from but my hairdresser used the tape-in kind and I had them in for five weeks. Never had them before, perfect length & volume for the wedding!

I was thinking of tape ins. My hair is on the thinner side and I've heard that the tape ins are more seamless looking and less noticeable against the scalp. I’ll definitely keep then in mind! Thank you!

It helps! I have fine hair too. I would have put in at least a week before your wedding so they settle in but you can also see if they need to be adjusted (I had to have one removed because it was too high up and I have a weird cowlick there and the tape showed).

I had tape ins and absolutely hated them. Felt way to bulky in my thin hair. I prefer microbeads, however, I am thinking of trying the new rage which is handtied wefts.

I used clip in extensions and it was SUCH a good decision. I ordered mine from Milk & Blush and was so happy. You can email them prior to ordering & send in pictures of your hair, they help match it perfectly. I didn't need to tone or cut mine at all. I ordered the longest, thickest ones so they were $260. I got the recommendation from one of my bridesmaids (she orders them every 3-4 months because she wears them almost every day). I wore them for my bachelorette party, my rehearsal dinner & the wedding. They weren't too heavy at all and stayed in super well! Make sure you get real hair & not synthetic hair. It looks way more real & stays curled.

Also if you know your hairdresser's phone # when you go to Sally's, you can use their pro account and save money, that's what I did! It saved me like $40 and she got the points for my extensions.

I’ve heard micro beads are great too! I might have to do some more research on stylists that do them in my area!

I'm getting tape in extensions put in next month for my Leap Day wedding! I don't remember what brand they are, but my stylist said they're the same ones Carrie Underwood uses. I live in Nashville, and my hair stylist was trained in doing extensions by Carrie Underwood's hair stylist. I believe they cost $350. I'm so excited to have long hair! I've wanted to try extensions for a while and the wedding was a perfect reason to try!

You’re welcome! At 1-2 weeks they’re perfect because you have a bit of grow-out so they’re not so tight against your head. They’re easier to move around and style around.

You can wash & dry your hair. Just be careful washing. And don’t put the dryer too close to the tape (possible melting). Brush you hair from below the tape (not starting at the top of your head). Then lightly brush crown if Needed. You’ll love them!
