Hair and trial prices

Lauren, on July 10, 2019 at 11:08 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 4

Hi, I’m doing a destination wedding in Puerto Rico. I found potential women for hair and makeup. I’m afraid they may not know how to do my hair or makeup because I am Chinese and my hair, skin and eyes are different than what they’re used to. The hair and trial price is the same or around the same as the day of the wedding! Is this normal?! One place is charging me $160 for the hair and makeup trial, another is charging $95. I’m not big into makeup so I nearly fainted at those prices for a trial! I’m visiting PR for 4 days so I’ll have my hair and makeup trial then run my errands looking like a bride lol. I'm thinking of not doing the trial and hoping for the best. What do you think?

A true makeup artist would be able to work on any type of skin. They should be able to determine your undertones ad and the best makeup for you

Hey Lauren! As the pp mentioned, a skilled and experienced makeup artist should be able to work with your skin tone regardless. Although if this is something you are worried about, perhaps having a trial would put your mind at ease? Do you have any sample photos of what you would like your makeup to look like?

Thanks! Yes, I have a photo I can show. What’s hurting me most is the money. I spoke to some friends and many of them had their trials on the day of their bridal showers which makes sense. I’d spend a lot on a trial for nothing because we’ll be running errands in Puerto Rico and going to the beach. I have 3 contenders for hair and makeup. Should I do a trial with just one? I got quotes to the 3 places and saw photos of hair and makeup from each place and they all look good, just not sure how it’ll look on me.
