Hair and Make-up (dc area) - Affordable Options

I've been searching for a hair and make up artist for my wedding in the DC area. I have yet to receive a credible quote that would not set me back another $800-1,000k for hair and make up for me + 3 bridesmaids (I got one lower quote, but it seems a little shady because the same vendor sent me different pricing previously.) I'm looking for pretty simple hair styles and very light make up. Has anyone on here found a relatively less expensive options in the DC area for hair and make up? Is there another *creative* way to get these service for less?

    Have you looked into Ulta? I'm not sure if they are more affordable but I've seen some brides choose that option. I've heard they've suspended that service right now due to COVID, but maybe it would be back online before your wedding.

    Are you paying for your bridesmaids? If so, traditionally bridesmaids cover those costs and that could help the budget.

    $800 seems about right for both hair and makeup for 4 people in DC (I grew up there). I got married in Baltimore and it was the same. $1000 because it was hair and makeup for 5, plus she stayed to touch up BOTH hair and makeup after the ceremony for all 5 of us. Worth it as we all cried, and some updos can get scruffy, so all of that was smoothed out

    If you've been getting quotes for hair and makeup people coming to you, ask what it would cost for you to go to them instead.

    The quotes you got are close to what we'll be paying (going to a salon) for four people and I live in a similarly expensive area. It would've been double the price to have them come to us.
