Guest book

Pat, on October 19, 2023 at 12:06 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 17
Did you have - or are you planning on having - a Gueat book at your wedding/reception? We didn't use one, our reception was only 45 people so we were able to interact with everyone. We also had a photo booth, and got copies of all the pictures taken there as well. Thoughts? Drop a picture of your guest book if you used/are using one!

We're doing an old map of the city we're getting married in poster sized and doing it on an oversized mat it so people can write on the matting around it and frame it that way Smiley smile

We did a photo guest book. We found a wood book online that we both loved (and by total coincidence it had a somewhat similar design as our invitations), and used that for people to put their Polaroid snapshots in. We also had a photo booth, and everyone got to take home their photos from that (and we got digital copies of everyone's photos).

I'm not a fan of traditional guest books, and just didn't see a purpose for one (it's not like I'm going to pull it out in 10 years and look at everyone's signatures LOL). So instead, we put out my instax camera and an empty photo album and let everyone take pictures and write a little message next to their photo. It was a huge hit! Everyone left a photo and message in the book (even our photographer and some of the servers joined in!), and they also got cute little instax photos to take home with them. It actually ended up being one of my favorite takeaways from our wedding, and I've looked at it several times! I know it will be something we enjoy forever.

We’re doing something like this since the two of us reside in a different state from most of our relatives!

That's cool! And then you can frame it in your home! (I just hope you can find the right size frame)

It’s obligatory to greet every guest to thank them for coming and people all expressed lovely wishes and sentiments in cards so I found the ifea of a guest book to be redundant. Alternatively we prioritized photos of every table and of every guest.

    Exactly! It’s a 20 x 28 so we should have plenty options!

We did a thumbprint guestbook. My mom drew the tree, my husband and I did our prints in black as the "lovebirds", and at the rehearsal we had our families and wedding party do theirs so that at the reception guests got the gist of it. Afterwards as part of our wedding gift, my mom got it custom framed and now it hangs in our dining room as a daily reminder of our family and friends who were with us

We only have about 35 guests but we got a large deckled edge paper unlined notebook for guests to give their advice or well wishes. After the wedding we plan to use the rest of the book as a wedding scrapbook.

I quilt, so I made quilt blocks for guests to sign with fabric pens. They were white squares with borders in our wedding colors so people didn't sign in the seam allowance. We got some really cute drawings in addition to signatures! Now I just have to piece the quilt.

We had everyone sign a monopoly board since that’s our favorite game! When we pull it out to play it’s always nostalgic and a nice way to remember the day for years and years
