Guest book/ card box?

rose, on October 11, 2017 at 6:19 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 16

I'm having a small wedding. About 15-25 guest. I'm wondering about a guest book? It would be nice to have one but I feel a traditional guest book is too much. Also, should I put out a card box for this amount of guest? I don't want it to feel like I'm expecting people to bring anything, and don't want guest to feel uncomfortable if they didn't but they see the card box. Am I overthinking it?

I actually made my card box... as in went to Michaels and saw a similar unfinished wood one comparable to the ones you can buy. My FH cut the slit in the center and I painted it in our colors and was on sale at the time.... as far as a guestbook completely up to you... we are going with a guestbook tree from Peachwik.com you are able to customize based on the amount of guests your having. If you are on a budget I don't think anyone is going to mind if you skip it Smiley smile I hope this helps!! Best of luck wedding planning! I attached a picture of the card box to help you out.

I'm making my own card box because the idea I had in mind is less than traditional. Instead of a guest book we're going to have a pic of us with a matte border for everyone to sign. I really want something for everyone to sign but don't think an actual book would be something I'd display or look at often enough.

I would get a card box - you will want cards to go to a certain place and have someone keep an eye on it if needed. I wished I had skipped a guest book as our wedding was 44 people, including us. The guest book used two pages......now we have a book with two pages and 128 blank ones!!!

I think as long as the card box is tucked away, but still findable, than no one will feel pressured or bad for not bringing something. But you don't want a stack of cards (easy to fall, get misplaced) or for people to be obviously handing them to you either.

Any ideas for a "guestbook" that's not actually a book? I like the idea of having a picture of us in the middle of a board and people can sign that

We are doing a jenga block guest book. my friend just has 15 people at her wedding. she had a wooden stained sign with their names on it. it turned out beautifully. I think doing a non-traditional guest book is the way to go.

I saw the cutest ideas on amazon last night. Someone posted about a globe and that's awesome and

Perfect for small weddings. But I also found this and now I'm torn.

I'm having 40 people and we're doing oars for our guest book. Even though it's small, I still want a nice memory from everyone who came!

One of the canvas guestbooks would also be an option. Peachwik lets you take it down to only 25 signature spaces. Some of them look a little funny with that few spaces, but you could always get one with 50 and only use half of them.

I found a wood sign on etsy that will have our name. They had bigger and smaller options depending on the number of people you are expecting. I didn't want a regular guestbook to just throw in a drawer somewhere.

We had a Peachwik guestbook alternative and loved it. Def could work for a group that small.

We're also having a small wedding and decided on a canvas as our guest book. For our cardbox,we got a small wooden chest.
