Definitely recommend hiring a travel agent. Yes, there is a fee, but they take care of everything - and they handle details for you if there are cancellations, etc.

We're doing a Greek elopement-moon with Kensington Tours. Highly highly recommend working with Ashley Pollard, she has been AMAZING. (Her email is FirstName.LastName at kensingtontours .com)

We're doing 2 weeks in Greece, getting married on day 5 in Santorini 🥰

My sister and I went to Santorini for her 30th, and we stayed in Imerovigli, which is about midway around the caldera. We most loved going to Oia for dinner to watch the sunset - it was the most beautiful sunset I think I've ever seen. There is also a really cool archaeological site at the other end of the island, a winery with quite unusual/different wines from any I've tasted from elsewhere, and also, loads of sailing tours that allow you to swim in the caldera and feel the hot water from the volcano vents.

I would most recommend staying here maybe 3-4 days and getting a VERY luxurious hotel which offers views over the caldera and private massage/in-room chef services.

The other place I loved in Greece was Corfu. Corfu feels more Italian than Greek, almost, and that's because it has a lot of influences from the Venetians. It's very laid back, loads of winding, tiny streets, lovely restaurants, and beautiful beaches. There's not a whole heap to do there, but it remains the most relaxing holidays I've ever been on.

We got married in Texas and went to Greece for our Honeymoon! We went to Santorini, Athens, and Mykonos. The experience was Pinterest inspired, but definitely far beyond impressive. The views, the experience, and the tasty foods were amazing! One thing I would recommend is taking a Catamaran around Santorini, this will give you one of the most spectacular views! Then Dinner we had so many options when we went into the inner city to see the incredible Sunset. There are so many places to explore. We traveled from place to place by Sea Jet. We highly recommend Greece as the Honeymoon spot!

How did you plan this trip? Did you go through a travel agent or do it yourself?

We did use a travel agent but this was almost 10 years ago, so I don't think I would again... we wanted them for things like arranging the ferries/transfers between places, since it wasn't always clear what/how to book, but they weren't really all that helpful.

Nowadays, there's a lot more info online, and I'd guess (although I haven't looked) a lot more resources/booking possibilities online too.

But, I'm also a pretty confident traveller and have booked all my own trips - I generally have the time and knowledge to be able to do that, from previous trips plus some google fu, but not everyone has travelled as much as I have, or just don't have the time/patience to look for the information, in which case I'd say go with a travel agent for sure!

Yes that was this year from the last week of September to the beginning of October. We did not use a travel agent. The hotels, it depends on where you stay, but most offer different excursions that you can sign up through with them. Beautiful experience in Greece and so worth it!
