Check the details and fine print. Make sure you are obtaining the results you want within a reasonable total cost. In the case of photos and videos, make sure the photographer has the level of experience you expect. Verify what length video you are getting and their sample videos --if verifiably of their own work. Are they giving you the number of photos you want and in the fashion you want -- files or printed versions? The "prize" might just be the effort to get you reliant on them and then the costs add up.

Read the fine print. Sometimes they are legitimate services and other times they are a scam where you have to sit through an MLM presentation and spend $x and may not even receive the prize you were told you won.

Yeah we checked.we read the contract. We won 2nd place. Which means we pay half the reg. Price.i read all the reviews too. We won our photo package from timeless tree weddings. Everything is not s scam.

I actually have a friend that worked for Timeless Tree! The “raffle” is misleading. Basically, they collect everyone’s emails, and they do choose one person that wins the main prize. But then they contact every other email address they collected and tell everyone that they’ve “won second place”. The company jacks up their prices, so that the 50% off “prize” basically just brings them down to the prices they regularly would have charged, but gives the illusion of a deep discount. They then subcontract photographers in the area to go shoot the weddings. So looking at their online photo albums really doesn’t give an accurate idea of the photography you will be receiving on your wedding day, because the photos are from tons of different photographers in tons of different areas. Some of those photographers are great, and some are brand new and have little to no experience. My advice would be to get the name and contact info of the exact photographer who would be shooting your wedding, and look into their work to make sure you like it and it’s your vibe. I would also check out photographers in your area and compare their packages/prices to those of Timeless Tree in order to ensure you are getting the photography you want at a fair price.

A quick google search reveals many many second place winners. From what I gather, it's a similar story to what Cece said. It might be worth it to price compare before signing up with this company, just to be on the safe side?

FWIW, there are many bridal vendors that use the "you have won a prize" route. One is a cookware company that gives out free honeymoons (with lots of restrictions etc).

Ill be sure to the review and contract again. We have done our research. As we have done with eveything thing else. Ill be sure to let them know yall concerns. They are also on wedding wire. I get sick of the feed back its never simple congrats. Just its a scam. Lol we are 40 and 43 we know h

Hm, I don't think there is a way of filtering responses to only those that agree with your point of view, unfortunately. That's kind of the point of a discussion board. At least as far as I know, there's not an ability to block. Having said that, you can flag responses that you feel are abusive so they can be reviewed by an admin.
