Grand Exit - Yea or Nay?

Sinéad, on November 5, 2019 at 11:05 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 92

Ok, your wonderful day is coming to an end and it’s time for you and your new spouse to go! Do you have a fun exit planned? Will your guests set out your path with sparklers, bombard you with bubbles or cover you in confetti? Or will you sneak out in a more low-key way?

Are you doing a grand exit? Yea or nay??

Yea. I did it for my ceremony. It's such a good photo op aha. It's not necessary though but one of my fave wedding photos was from my ceremony exit.

No, it's always been a clusterf*ck at every wedding I've attended. Definitely didn't do it.

Nay, I didn't want our reception to have an end! We were allowed to party in our banquet hall until 1:30am. I didn't want to miss a minute! The dance floor was still packed at 12:30am.

Yea. Our reception is on a lake with a little dock next to where the party will be so we are planning on having my uncle pull up to the dock in his speedboat and we're going to ride off from the reception that way. My FH has talked about doing sparklers or something as we leave too

We did bubble exit at our ceremony. It was kind of a last minute decision but I'm glad we did it because the photos look really nice!

We’re doing one! Our venue doesn’t allow sparklers unfortunately, but we’re doing glow sticks instead 😊 it should make for some really cute photos!

Nope. We are having an after party bonfire so no big exit.

Nay, plus anything like that is not allowed at my venue since it's all indoors.

We aren't doing a reception grand exit, but we are considering doing a ceremony exit with bubbles to get some photos.

Nay. Anyone left after the reception ends will be invited downstairs to the venue’s speakeasy where we will continue partying so we won’t really have a chance to do an exit.

Yea. I think we are doing bubbles. Venue doesn't allow sparklers.

Nay! We had a slow dance just ya two. Most of the guest were picking up or on the bus already and it was intimate and quiet.

Our honeymoon suite for the night of our wedding is at the venue of our ceremony/reception so we aren't having a typical grand exit. We will still gather everyone and do one last hoorah before escaping to enjoy the solitude.

We'll probably do a ceremony exit, but not a reception one. Typically by that time, everyone has been drinking or they have left and it's a mess to get people together haha

Yes! I think we are going to leave on FH family's boat. We went to a wedding this past weekend and they left on a helicopter! Definitely the most grand I have ever seen

We won't be. We'll stay to the end with everyone and then head off to the after party.

I'd like to do one. FH already doesn't want a grand entrance (anxiety) so I'd like a grand exit at least. He'll be walking away from everyone so it'll be easier and quicker for him to manage.
