The thank yours for your wedding party should be tailored to things they like. One common suggestion is to shop for them like it’s their birthday. You’re thanking them for all the time, money, and support they’ve given throughout the wedding planning process. As far as guest favors, edible one are usually the best bet. Maybe a play on a traditional Celtic or Viking treat? As far as your name change, you can legally change your last name to anything you want, but you will have to go through the formal court petition process. The only exception is changing your name to that of your spouse’s after a marriage.

I agree that thank you gifts for your wedding party should reflect their individual taste and interests. Favors for guests are not necessary at all. A name change to something different than either your current name or your FI’s may not be common but that’s a personal choice.

I forgot to add – you can buy Viking rune necklaces. It could be cool to get your wedding party rune necklaces or bracelets that have a symbol that represents them individually
