Getting ready robes for moms?

Emily, on March 15, 2018 at 10:04 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 14
BMs and I have getting ready robes for pictures and they're very cute. Got them at a great price too. I was wondering if any other brides had their Moms/FMIL there as well to get ready and did you get them robes as well? Not for or against it, just wasn't sure.

I would ask if they'd be interested. My mom hates robes unless they go down to her ankles.

Yeah I asked and they said they didn't care either way. But my mom is the same way about robes. I just don't want anyone feeling left out

I would only do this if you really thought they would be comfortable wearing them. Usually those robes are short and reveal a lot of skin - I know my mom would definitely not want to wear one.

I'm not doing robes. I'm having white button downs (probably from The Gap or Old Navy) monogrammed. I probably will do them for Mom and FMIL now that you mention it.

My sister got robes for our mom and her MIL in addition to us bridesmaids. They wore them for getting ready and photos. The robes all had our titles on the back, which, for me, put the nails in the coffin of never wearing it again.

I got my mom a robe as well as my flower girl. I wanted any ladies that were there with us getting ready to be a part of the fun!

Totally agree! Go with initials or monograms if anything.

I originally got robes for my girls only and I showed my mom them and she loved them and wanted one for herself. So I ordered one separately and gave it to her as a birthday gift. It just has her monogram on it so she can wear it whenever she wants.

I bought robes for my bridesmaids, but not my mom or MIL's. I know my cousin who got married a few years ago got us bridesmaids denim button down shirts and gave her mom and MIL pink shirts to wear. It seems like a nice gesture.

I'm doing matching jammies. Both my mom and fmil are deceased so unfortunately no need to worry.

I ordered the robes plain, no titles. I want them to be able to wear again. And Howco! I love your idea of moms in button downs. I think they'd be much more comfortable in that 😄

I got monogrammed robes for my BMs (dark green) and one for my Mom (mint green) since she's going to be getting ready with us. I knew she would have 100% felt left out if I didn't get one for her, so it wasn't even a question for me.

I thought about a robe for my mom, but I think I’m going to do pajamas or a monogrammed shirt in the same/similar color as my BM robes. I know she wouldn’t be comfortable in any type of robe without a full outfit under neath basically haha and would never wear it again.

I also bought my BMs stemless champagne flutes with their names and included them in my BM proposal boxes (they’ll be bringing them the day of the wedding for when we get ready), and I got my mom one as a surprise to give her at the rehearsal dinner or day of the wedding so she feels included in that too.
