Georgia opening up April 24th

Ashley, on April 21, 2020 at 9:22 AM Posted in Georgia Planning 0 2
So yesterday, our governor made the announcement that several businesses including beauty industries, restaurants, and even bowling alleys and movie theaters! I just can't believe this!! We were set to get married on April 4th, but ultimately postponed til October 24. I will not be going out because I disagree with the govenor and cases and deaths from the virus are still on the rise. But now I am worried about being penalized from my vendors because "things are open" we already had to pay an additional $700 for our honeymoon plans and $400 to our caterer for changing the date.

Hi Ashley! I'm no expert, but the push to open bowling alleys really boggles me... doesn't that seem like it would be a high risk activity for sharing germs?!? 🤷

As long as you've already confirmed your new wedding date with your wedding vendors and addressed any initial fees stipulated in the contract (like the $700 & $400 you mentioned) - then you should be in the clear! Your vendors are also bound by your original contract and any written communications you've had about rescheduling - so you shouldn't need to brace for any additional unexpected issues!

Agreed! I think there is going to be a major resurgence of the virus because he's opening up some businesses too early. We still don't have efficient testing in the state and we were the last to close but the first to open. Our deaths are still going up.
