Georgia Brides, Best Month for an Outdoor Wedding?

April/May or October/November. Our outdoor wedding was scheduled for April but was postponed till November.

Is the weather usually pretty mild during those months? Does it get cold in November? Is there still a chance of chill in April? These may sound like dumb questions xD but I grew up in Vermont, and have lived in Colorado the last few years I'm used to long, drawn out, frigid winters.

View Quoted Comment Ok so it warms up in April, mid 70s, but there’s also a good chance of rain. Which might not be as bad since we do have a lot of pollen 😷 November is a little cooler, mid 50s. It could get a lot colder though as it has it past months. You just never know.

Not a Georgia bride, but I went to a wedding in Georgia in April last year and it was beautiful!

Welcome to Georgia (preemptively)! I would suggest late fall, like October. Obviously, the region you're going to be in matters to some extent, but in my experience, summer is way too hot and humid (I did that myself - our ceremony was the only outdoor part, it was like 15 minutes max, and it was still a terrible idea), winter is too chilly to be comfortable outside for a long period of time (not even close to Colorado but still uncomfortable, especially if your guests don't know it's going to be outdoors and aren't dressed appropriately), and spring is either raining or pollen season.

A word of warning - pollen season here is fierce. Everything turns green and yellow. I've lived in and visited a number of other states, and I've never seen anywhere as bad as here. The flora is beautiful during that time though, and if you're planning on going with a professional venue, presumably keeping everything not covered in pollen would be their problem. You might end up sneezing a lot though.

The October weddings I've been to here have all had beautiful weather though. It's no longer achingly humid, and pollen isn't a problem. The weather is usually in the 70s, though the first couple of weeks last year were still higher. I know October is a popular wedding month these days, so that could work against you, but I do think it has the best consistent weather for an outdoor Georgia wedding.

We had our ceremony outdoors this February lol! It was 60 degrees! I would avoid July/August, it's very hot and humid! The pollen is very high right now but the weather is perfect! So I would say April/May or September-November. Even early December is very nice. My bday is early December it's very nice during the day, but cold at night.

I've lived here for 10 years now and I'm originally from New Jersey, so I know cold. If that helps your decision lol.

Say April or early May. Summer months are too hot and humid. September is nice too.

I have lived in GA my whole life. We get a week or two of nice Spring weather and a week or two of perfect Fall weather LOL.... pollen season is harsh and summers have you feeling as though you will melt. It stays comfortably warm but not scorching hot from LATE September all the way up to Halloween sometimes. Spring is unpredictable.... the cold is hit or miss until early May. If you do plan during April/May I highly suggest later in the day because some mornings will be in the 30's with frost and afternoons will be in the 70's. It's always joked that we go through all the seasons in one day during spring. Not sure if this helps.
