Garland Snafu

Samantha, on January 1, 2022 at 6:58 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5

So I got more problems lol. I am of course, planning everything in my head, collecting decor here and there. I just sat down to put it all to paper (or rather Excel) and realized I have gotten 13 Eucalyptus garlands at about 6 ft length and I have 8 ft tables.

Does anyone know how to make this work and look good still? Or am I doomed?

Current Table Decoration Plan:

- Black table cloths

- Maybe some sort of runner? Maybe velvet burgundy?

- A stack of gorgeous quoted books in a moody Edgar Allen Poe Style in the center

- 3 black taper candles with glass tubes near the books

- Horror table numbers in 5x7 gold frame

- GARLANDS RUNNING DOWN THE CENTER!?!?! T.T

- Some votives to add romantic vibes going down the table in intervals on either side of the books

I think it will work just fine. Aesthetically I think it looks better when the garlands/runners are shorter than the tables. Can you do a mock-up on a long table at home?

Also make sure if you use books and other decor that you don’t use your own copies that you would miss if someone accidentally took them.

I cannot because I do not... own... a table...

But thank you! If you think it looks good maybe I am just worrying too much. And not to worry, my book centerpieces were hand made for this purpose and I kind of hope people want to take them!

Since you have one stack of books and candles in the center of the table (which takes up some of the 8ft) you can cut the garland in half so that 3ft of garland begin at each side of the books/candles.

Hope it works out. And even if you don’t have a table, you can still test out the look of it on the floor just to get a general idea. Best wishes!
