Hello! I’m getting married in Knoxville, Tn, November 2021, and I was wondering how to go about getting my friend to be a legitimate officiant? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Summer! Unfortunately Tennessee passed a new state law last July that no longer recognizes online ordinations as valid (which is how friends/family members have previously been able to officiate weddings). The law also specifically covers the Universal Life Church.
What about hiring an officiant but having your friend do a reading or deliver the homily?
