We're having a buffet and before taxes/service charges, it's $12.75 per person. That's with two meats, four sides, rolls, iced tea and lemonade.

This really varies on the location and style of your event. I have seen some formal sit down plated dinners run $200 or more per person but it also included the rentals: tables, chairs, table cloths, plates, glasses, flatware, etc. I have also seen informal buffets for $10 or less per person but it only included the food and the rentals and delivery were extra.

At my wedding in the LA area we had a formal sit down dinner for $65 per person with 20+ hot and cold appetizers, 4+ main courses, sides, cake cutting, non-alcoholic drinks, with rentals and venue included.

Ours is 33 per person. This is just for the main meal/ buffet. We are doing a seated salad course. Then a buffet with 2 meats, mashed potatoes, green bears, and rolls. We haven't picked our appetizers yet.

Ours is $21.95 a person. This includes an appetizer for the cocktail hour, lemonade & iced tea, a coffee bar, rolls & butter, a plated salad, and a buffet. Buffet is 2 meats, a potato, and a vegetable. No additional cost for real china plates, linens, etc. It's all included in the price. We chose a smaller, local venue, and got a steal compared to other venues pricing in our area!

We're thinking of doing a BBQ buffet. It's $44 a person and includes 3 different appetizers for cocktail hour, 2 meats, 3 sides, plated salad, water service, china and napkins and then of course all of the service fees and taxes.
